Wonderfull idea, I will buy one. I lost a; rod, ride time, gasgets, shipping expence, ect. Since my upside ski was thirsty for lake water. And those ever so loved hood tricks would be safe again!

it could be built to be the size of a small led flashlight and like he originally said it is based on proximity and could possibly be adjustable for couches vs stand up freeride

understand the basics and principals to the technology

very similar to the keyless ignition on newer bmws and other high end cars

Go for it.

I could use two. I would be willing to pay $100 each. They would have to be really cool for me to spend much more.

I think over time you could sell 1000 of them. They would have to hold up and not break down. Bad press would kill your sells right away.

Interesting but it shuts off when it gets wet,I am thinking that would need quite a bit of teweaking to work in our application,I am a bare footer I know it wouldn't work for me at all.

water stops the transmission of the frequency... so for freestyle it wont work... if you sub or do any other trick which puts you underwater your ski would shutoff...

nice find though... maybe we can get them to make a design for our group?

I would take 5, just think being able to just walk up and ride, i like it, i would sew it into my jacket....cool idea...over here at a sea world show a ski took off and smashed into the crowd, smashed some people up, no more show, it would be good for shows....

Guys, I know this may be an oldish thread, but here in the UK, we appear to be having a major freestyle problem. All our inland lakes require insurance, and all insurance companies appear to be refusing to cover a ski without a lanyard.
True flatwater Freestyle with a lanyard is very difficult. Has this , or any other, remote device come to market yet?

I fear that the whole of the UK will be forced to wear lanyards, effectively killing off freestyle.

just ziptie it... then wear a lanyard on your lifejacket... in the off chance you get in some kind of accident (hopefully not)...just yank the ziptie and act like you have no idea what happened... is the insurance co. going to have someone follow you around to make sure your lanyard is attached to the bars?
