Wireless Lanyard

other things to keep in mind with RF...
what happens when you ride in an area where RF waves are modified? like around military zones? (meaning signals killed or scrambled)
would you need FCC approval?
I know a little bit about RF being in the business for a little while
what about encountering another boat that uses solid core wires or a magneto ignition, or even non-resistor plugs, there is a potential for a problem, of course this would all have to be tested
i would also strong suggest coast guard approval, never hurts to be safety verified, and in this day and age where people are sue happy, don't want someone knocking on your door trying to sue you

when i was working with the RFID team i ran this by the team, wasn't even considered, was told to risky, but never got an answer why
I also ran an RFID project past them for this ATV park that rents out ATVS, could help them track lost people, and track stolen equipment, albeit at a preium cost too
i was trying to think outside the box to show the uses for RFID. tags are just so expensive, will them come in time, yes... but in this economy, not now.

Has anyone Googled for:
wireless lanyard
There are a couple for boats. There is even something about an insurance company offering a discount for using one. That would make it sound pretty legit.
