Map quest says Vegas to pismo is 8 hours.
I usually do it in 6-6.5 hours. But we do 75 the whole way with my trailer and we use a radar detector because in California the max speed for a trailer is 55.
It's really not that bad of a drive. Next weekend I'm driving to surfslam and that's 17 hours 1 way.

29 hrs straight thru for me from Canada to WF. I like spending the week there if I am going to drive that far. I always enjoy meeting people/teams from other countries and listening to how they got there and some of their stories. I have friends that race, mostly I wrench (not too often) or drink (very often) and just hang out all week. My wife comes sometimes and she enjoys it too so we are thinking of going back this year, better weather than here.
