Other WTF is wrong with nebraska

nebarska is now requiring any boat/pwc operator born after 1985 to take their stupid boating safety course which is a 6 HOUR LONG CLASS THAT MUST BE DONE IN A CLASSROOM! ARE YOU KIDDING ME!?!? what about someone coming there on vacation? Why would I make the 4 hour trip there just to spend half of my weekend in their stupid class?!? Anyone under 28 is now assumed to be unfit to operate a water vessel according to those back country hicks. Am I the only one that thinks this is absulutely rediculous?

I would be totally ok with doing something online so that i can get the worthless certificate at home before i drive all the way out there. to have to plan an entire extra day of vacation to take their test is retarded. do they not want any kind of out of state tourism? So my buddy has operated tanks in afghanistan, drives a tractor trailer, has a private pilot license but he isnt fit to drive a jet ski? what happens in 20 years when the cut off date is stil 1985. nebraska game and fish is about the dumbest agency ever.

1978 here in Michigan. 6 hours of educational boating content plus the license for $20 (I paid) is a deal. doesn't hurt to re fresh and learn a little more about boating laws and etiquette.

ya im in colorado. its not that im upset about needing to pass a boater safety test. its that i have to sit in a classroom for 6 hours on my vacation to take a class. give me a video to watch online, give me a test that requires a score of 100% i dont care. just let me get it done before i travel all the way the hell out there. OR let me take a class in my state and accept that as credible.

i guess i didnt realize so many other states required this. I've only boated colorado and wyoming. no safelty course required. maybe there should be a national course that is required for anyone in order to register a boat. then every state should honor that class as being sufficient. no more headaches when going out of state.

that would make too much sense.. and we can't do anything that makes sense.....

on another note... where do you ride in wy? i used to live in laramie, still venture out there for a few days every summer...

i make it up to glendo a couple times every year. i love that lake. havent been anywhere else. i hear grayrock is a lot more lax with regards to camping so we might go there this year. is that true? what lake would you suggest trying?

haha.. idk... i never rode when i lived out there... and i usually go west to the mountains... but always wanted to take the ski out and ride Rob Roy and Hog Park res.... maybe when i go this year we'll have to figure somethin out... glendo isn't out of the way since i drive right by...

nice... i was actually just talking with one of the guys that usually goes with about maybe headin out twice instead of just once this summer... might be worth while now...

Online tests are a joke. They are worthless.
