Ya, who started that crap. Yay flip, I'm going to reach out my arm like I'm cupping the judges balls for 10 seconds to make sure they realize I just did a sweet trick.
You're in a timed run, put the hammer down, fly around, make that dry pipe sing. Save all the ball cupping and arm pumps till the end.
the sport would need more support from the major manufacturers seeing they no longer make standups i highly doubt we see it
That's one reason, here's a few more...
1) The fact that it's boring after a rider or two, you've see one BF variation you've seen them all.
2) No carnage. Crashing & Burning makes the spectators stayed glued to the action. Not that I want to see anyone get seriously hurt but there's a lot to be said when someone risks it all and eats crap. Even more impressive when they get up from things you thought would send someone to the morgue. The appearence of this sport on water gets no respect.

People an say the same thing about like BMX.... Once you seen a few of the backflips, you saw it alll... or once you see a spin... who the hell cares weather its a 540, or a 900??? Same thing with skateboarding, or anything along those lines.... to some, its stupid and the same stuff...
I think freestyle jetskiing/Speed and style would be great in X games...
Or GOLF... who the HELL cares how many swings it takes to get a stupid white ball into a tiny hole 400 yards away....

they are not gonna let us in just to do one trick. there needs to be several disciplines. We can't support that. Look at surfing... A hugely popular sport got canned from the Xgames after on year... Our sport just does not fit the mold, no matter how many times people bring up threads about it... It's just not gonna fly.

First thread ive seen about it. I think it could be a cool event. It would demand that riders step up the tricks that they pull off. Bigger motors, better ski's.

It has been pitched before, possible demo deals, etc etc, no disrespect but it's been suggested and tried before by people with very good connections both to top riders and top people at ESPN and promoters with event experience and nothing ever happened.
