Surfriding X-Metal trim *cant pull*

Looks like the washer thing you have here is whats stopping you. Take it off and leave the same amount of gap and see if it pulls.

Good point, we had this flipped on one of our older setups, but it most resulted in the nozzle turning when the trim was pulled, but I can see how this might be adding strain to the system as it pulling the nozzle down while the trim is pulling up.

Jace Forest...BRAP!
Disconnect the steering cable and see how easy it is to pull. If it's still hard check and make sure your trim cable isn't pinched between something inside the ski. Also check the cable it's self and make sure it is moving freely. If there is a crack or wear mark on the cable somewhere water will get in there and it will start to rust

If it was pinched, he wouldn't be able to pull it at all, or the pinch would help hold it once pulled. This looks like the steering cable is what's pulling it back down.
Take the grinder to that pump fitting!

One of the reasons l got rid of my xmetal trim was l could not pull mine back.Just plain hard to do even under a slight load.No kinks or pinches, just plain weak hands.....lol

Went to a thrust and no issues.

I was torn between thrust and x-metal. I have 2 cats trim systems and was amazed at how effortless it was to pull the ezpull system. pullies multiply power. its a law of physics. a lot of people swear by the x-metal, but the thrust is the way to go for me. blowsion also has a pulley system but they want like $50000 for theirs.

Great point. I pull my cable out of the package and wrap it from end to end in an additional chaffe resistant sheath. Fuel line works well, but there other good options to keep the gray outer plastic from being stripped, its junk IMO, adding a better wrap is a must from the start if you want it to last.

I'd like to jump in here and ask what can be done to solve the steering rod/cable from bending upward. I totally agree that the pivot for steering ball needs to be on the same axis as pivot bolt on trim ring. I'm thinking about making an offset on the end of steering rod so the steering ball is on top of the steer nozzle. The B2 cable is beefier but would still put unwanted stress on the steer rod / cable. What is the corrective solution.

How can that be. If trim lever is pulled the steer cable will extend.
