x2 24-7 nose and 650 electrics

I road my friends custom x2 with 24-7 nose piece this weekend and it was a totally different ride, i had so much fun i didn't want to give it back. Instead of sliding or skipping out it stuck to the water and carved some sick turns at full throttle. He also went from 750 electrics to 650 and that also made a world of difference, it really brought that big pin motor to life, especially on bottom end. i was very impressed and would suggest these mods to any one that rocks a x2.

Did it have a modded CDI? stock 650 electronics have a really low rev limiter.

Thats why you have to run the 86/87 (3wire) CDI. No rev limiter or pesky internal stop relay.

I have the 24-7 nose on both of my X2's and my brother has it on his. Its sweet as hell. Turns like a dream @ speed.

how was nose piece fastened on with

We did it the same as putting a tubbie on. 5200 fast set (alot of it), then screwed it down, finally flare with thickened epoxy. There is more flaring/sanding work then a tubbie install to give it the seamless look, but if you can install tubbies....you can do this. Also just like a tubbie on an X2 the shape is not exact to the hull at first, you have to start at the front and work your way back....It bends to the correct shape of the hull. So the chines all line up nicely (as you can see). If you want to be really safe, you can drill a hole in the motor compartment, then foam behind the nose for added support...but I have not done this on either of mine and so far so good. There pretty thick...MUCH THICKER then the japanese one.

We did my brothers FAST...... the day before PCOLA trip, and it came out pretty good for the less than 1.5 hours of time we put into it. Actual install (not prep/finishing work) was less than 15mins.

This one is still covered with mold release on the top...thats hot fast we put it together. LOL

Good luck actually receiving anything you order from that "shop" unless you live next door and can beat him till he produces your parts.

I hope it's cheap cuz it's pretty crude looking. It's asymetrical also!:burnout:
This was an early piece Mark GAVE to my brother for FREE. .... So yes it was cheap..... I put the pic up here to show Mario an example of how the installation goes. There are ones done much nicer.... and I never claimed to be good at body work. In fact, I will readily admit I suck at it.

As I said earlier it was a slapjob install I did in 15 mins with minimal effort, while we were assembling my lightweight hull at the same time.

If you have a problem isnt that what the feedback sections are ment for. I dont think that is what the original poster wanted in his thread. I dont have a problem with anyone, but isnt that the rules.

This was a free piece.. cannot complain. The ski rides awesome with it. I understand you know far more then I do about this stuff, so I will just drop it. But I will post a pic of my nice gel coated real production piece on Friday.

I didn't realize it was a prototype piece. I retract my criticism.

Nope, I was just stating my personal experience with the nose pieces. I didnt relize that the picture of the freebie install was a bad move. I was just trying to help ppl out and things seemed to backfire...lol

Funny because the so called "production" piece that I received looked exactly like the pic you posted of your freebie.

I also find it rather convenient that when I politely expressed my dissatisfaction with the workmanship of the nose piece to Mark that he broke all contact with me and stopped returning my calls/emails and never shipped my hood or refunded my money... but your right, thats another story/thread.

Lastly, if somebody is going to post a thread rating a certain product produced by a particular shop then it's my duty to ensure potential customers understand what they are getting into before purchasing said product.
