Don't they make their own 61X pattern forward exit manifold? Maybe they're making the whole enchilada.

I reread it and you're right. That is odd, I guess I assumed Xmetal would be making the whole thing.

I don't see the market changing really. Extreme power sports like ours are always expensive. Plus ours are jet skis. Anything on the water is expensive. Unless someone new comes out with a pipe that performs that's less expensive, there's no need for the only people making pipes worth ato drop prices.
Its changing,Look what has happened with all the new hull manufactures recently,with that advent,a Few new motor manufactures,few mag pumps out there now as well,skat,solas,max,thrust. many pole manufactures,couple stroker crank companies changin production have made those prices come down big time.things will be different before long.Soon the poorly run ones will only exist in their small neck of the woods where people will put up with their BS and delays and broken promises .

Dont think it will be long before some other options are in market,since composite pipes are being fig out and working well with water injection.
As far as the mani goes,there are casting companies out there that still have the rights as far back as the riva red pipe mani,very sim to others out there.these can be produced very cheaply

I agree, there's some cheap hulls out there.... But they come with big promises and little hope.
I'm curious. Which ones do you think have big promises and little hope?
I really don't think the pipe prices are that bad. These companies have to make money or everything will come to a stand still.

I must've missed some price sheets. I haven't noticed a reduction in hull, pump, carb, intake, exhaust, engine, ignition pricing at all. Guess I need to update from windows 95 lol
Hulls - cheaper options available over the past few years
Pumps - Maxx555 and Solas are certainly cheaper than Skat
Carbs - no bueno, more expensive all around, including BlackJacks
Intake - same deal
Exhaust - lol
Engine - PHP and some DASA dealers offer pretty low prices for big engines. Low is relative
Ignition - MSD has certainly gotten more and more expensive, but ATP does offer a lower priced option
I know you didn't list cranks, but those are also now significantly cheaper from ADR than other options.

I hear ya Matt, I guess I was just looking at it differently. It seems that the price to build a bit chin flat water ski is the same or higher today. I was looking at the total package of buying tip stuff. A Freak is still the same, I wasn't looking at new players, I was looking at existing, proven reliable players in the game. A DVX 900 today is more than a comparable KDX 900 was last year all things being equal.
Should they lower their price? Why would they do that? Seems like a dumb move. Keep raising them until people stop buying them.

Absolutely - but I think that has more to do with the level of an am ski increasing. A competition legal 900 ski today will probably perform just as well as a pro-legal ski of a couple years ago.
That said, it's still far too expensive IMHO (which doesn't mean
to anyone else). But you are getting more for it now than a couple years back.

well, that's kinda what I'm getting at, why lower it, when you don't have to? That's why I don't see thd sport changing. The guy that got me back in to skis doesn't ride anymore... Because he can get heavy in to another sport and spend half of what he's already spent on his ski. Our sport is crazy. I refuse to talk to my friends (who do t ride) about how much I(I've) spend(spent) on my skis. In the last two years it's over $15k. And that ain't nothin.
