Lol my race series is turning into that too.. Theyre gonna change the name to the 600cc "supposed to be stock" micro class

It seems to me that in recent years, a large percentage of the top guys both in pro and am are pretty much a/m company sponsored team riders.

Bahh, no disrespect to you, Mr. Buzzard...but come on man! Engine technology is nothing like computer technology! Computer hardware from 15 years ago literally cannot keep up with modern software! On the other hand pwc engine technology from 15 years ago can still shred up the water. Physics doesn't change!

Sucks you purchased wanting the newest tech but it ain't like it's gonna be obsolete any time soon!

It isn't. It's a move back to "normal" after a few years where that wasn't the case.
Therefore, it's pointless to bitch about the pro-level equipment being too expensive and that it's all about the money. Well no :):):):).
