When do we start sending deposits? When will they be produced? Will it be completely drop in?

Now to John@jetskihaven,when he gets at least 25 people making deposits, yes it will bolt right in,you will need a tigershark 640 coupler for the Kawi driveshaft.

Is the yamaha engine coupler the same as the tigershark? I accidently bought the engine side. I need the engine side as well and am hoping it will thread onto the yami crank.

The tigershark coupler has the Kawi thread to screw on to the shaft and it matches up with a Yamaha 3 finger coupler.I have no idea what size thread the engine side coupler is.Keep this in mind I am setting this plat up specifically for a stock Yami coupler on the engine and a tigershark coupler on the driveshaft.

Seems like it would be easier to find the five finger that is readily available aftermarket than a stock part for an obsolete ski that is out of business. Or can you still get them from an arctic cat dealer?

There is no five finger made that has the thread to screw on to the Kawi shaft,I found a coupler already made that works without any mods and you want something else ,go figure? Like I said earlier this is what the plate will be set up for, they are readily available easily obtainable parts.

You know whan you were asking, I was thinking the same thing.

What he means Terry is that you should set the plate up using an aftermarket billet coupler for the Yamaha engine. They make them so that they use the Kawasaki style dampner. Then you just use a stock or another aftermarket coupler (for a Kawasaki 18mm thread) on the drive shaft. That way the couplers are readily available. I have a feeling that if a bunch of people did this conversion that Tiger Shark couplers would be hard to find.

There are only going to be 50 plates made, you trying t tell me out of the thousands of Tigersharks made we can't come up with 50 couplers? Contact John at Jetski@haven,John Zigler or any of the the hundreds of other used parts dealers for a coupler,I guarantee you they are not hard to find,if all else fails you can still order brand new ones from the ARTIC CAT dealerships.Three finger Yami couplers are not hard to find either.I guess I need to reintegrate this one more time for you guys,I don't need a Yami bedplate,I am probably not getting a thing out of this deal, therefore I am not spending money on aftermarket couplers that I will never use to set up plates that I do not need.Truefully I am at the point that if someone else wants to take over this project I would gladly let them do so and just walk away,we seem to have a lot of back seat drivers in this sport but nobody want to take the damn wheel.

You cried about doing this plate forever so don't act like you are not doing it for nothing.

Tell John to send you a billet Yamaha coupler for mock up.

Also when people buold high HP Yamaha engines they use billet couplers with a Kawasaki style dampner. There is a reason for that...

Would you like to take it over then, you have the engineering degree and obviously think I am making a mint off this deal,I assure you thats not the case,if I even break even for the time I put into this I will be doing good.

Just trying to give the propper insight to the project.

I never said you were making a mint on these or assumed it.

I do want one but,... I want to see the final product first. I have some other ideas about the plates and the mounting.

I think you are more than capable of making these work, I saw Will's and it looked stupidly easy.

Well here is where I am at now ,I have people wearing me out about what price it is going to be and now people are wanting billet couplers,do you see the irony there?.Either you want it cheap or you don't,and as always if you want it built to spec then you have to pay someone to custom build it or you must build it yourself.

I agree totally but remember the old saying "be careful what you wish for..."

You wore out John about a free plate...

You will get it done I have no doubts. Sorry to wear on you some...

so I assume you are using the lower crank case bolts to attach to the bedplate? or are you making it to where the bedplate mounts to the actual mount locations?
