Keep us posted Wedo. I have an X2 that needs a different motor. Either a 701 Yamaha or I try to stuff this Sea Doo 800 out of my 96' XP into my X2. Might be a little big in size?

The 800 will not fit,I already tried that one,to make it fit the hull would have to go to a full vee style hull, the starter hits the bottom of the hull in its current configuration.

I figured it would be a tight squeeze after measuring the width of the 800 with stock pipe. Would the power to weight gain be worth the swap if it was a bolt in with minimal mods to the hull?

John @jetskihaven has said if 25 peeps will show some interest and put up $100.00 deposits he will make the plates happen,so that puts it back on you guys,I personally don't need one,its time to put up or shut up I guess.

So how much is the plate going to cost ? Or is the $100.00 deposit a paid in full order?

I would assume that the price will be the same or damn closeto the 650-800 plates, keep in mind he still has a number of those plates that people said they wanted and either did not order or bought and returned. Its kind of similar to the t-shirt sales gig on here, everyone wanted one right up to the time it came to order up and pay, that little faux pas is holding up the production of these Yami adaptor plates, that is the reason for the deposit and why if you want one you need to be serious and step on up the plate! BTW Cattledog 25 is not a large number as 28 people voted on this poll saying they were interested in a plate. That is just off this site!

Out of the 28 who said yes via their keyboard, you can count on 5 actually sending payment for one. The reality is, you have a very limted market, considering there are only a few of us willing to dump a lot of money into these things, let alone converting to a Yamaha platform.

I have done my part on this particular deal,I have a blem bedplate on the way to mod and send back so let me put it like this if 25 people don't want to step up to the plate here and put a $100.00 deposit down I am just wasting my time ,let me know now before I waste my time on a project that nobody is willing to pay for.I am getting very little if anything out of this venture BTW,I don't need YAMI conversion plate,I have the engine I am sticking with and the other ski is running Kawi power.

I'll buy one. It would save me from having to design one up myself. Looks like I'll be building up my 5mm Able and wont be able to afford to build a superjet up after the engine build. I'll be wanting to throw this engine in the X2 in the spring.

this will work for all kawies 650 - 800 for a motor swap. bigger market than you would think.

The only Yami swap I would even consider would be a 760 or a big bore, barring that I wouldn't waste my time,I defiantly can't see the logic of installing a 701 over a 750 when the 750 is a direct bolt in.Now in my case since I had every possible aftermarket part here that I needed for a 720 it made sense to go that route,so I guess if you were in the same position with a Yami setup it would make sense.
