Will, you are 100% right on, thats exactly how we got my motor in. Get the aluminum motor mounting plates, glue them in. Then go over them with carbon to keep it nice and tight. I would suggest sticking with the kawi pump/driveshaft though. You do not want to deal with getting a yamaha midshaft installed in a stock hull! That would make it REALLY hard.

Everyone is talking about bedplates. While I am sure it can be done, after shimming way too many motors in.....I really dont think it would work out that well

Thats what I was thinking. I don't really see a need in doing to yamaha pump conversion anyhow, I think the kawasaki moves plenty of water. When you say GET the aluminum mounting plates, is it something you bought, or fabricated?

I am sure he is talking about glassing in pieces of aluminum then drilling and tapping them for the mounts.

I feel the best idea is to just have two bed plate or "wings" like a stock Yamaha.

They will bolt to the Yamaha engine yet have Kawasaki motor mount holes. This way they will fit all Kawasaki 650/750/800 skis.

Only downside is they need to be made right so the coupler meshes correctly in and out and up and down.

Will, I assume you mean shimming your SN? I don't think Kawasakis need shimmed the same as a Yamaha because the driveline is setup better.

Not quite that simple, but my setup should allow 701 install in multiple Kawi engine bays. Kawi's still need shims but are more tollerable of misalignment. Kawi pumps are fine.

In my short time of surfing the net I have seen a lot of weird disturbing crap that people called ART,coincidence, maybe ,maybe not.

Not saying the bedplates cannot be made.... But I never see them going mass produced to the general population. After studying the motor and stock bedplate together, its is not nearly that simple.

Ah but it depends on who is configuring dosen't it,don't forget what I have in my engine compartment.I believe I can make this happen,if I can't I will have given it one helluva try!
