keep your panties on we are a different bread and a thrifty one at that. it's the affordability and fun of the x2 that lures you in. then the shear desire for more that brings us to modify

You can buy an X2 for cheap ,modify it for cheap and ride it for cheap.Hell I bought two X2"s ,a double trailer and a Seabreeze sitdown for $500.00,I sold the trailer for $500.00 the other X2 for $200.00 and the 650 engine out of mine went into a seacouch that I had $100.00 in and sold for $1500.00,.Do you see a pattern starting here? The 720 Seadoo engine in it now was built from spare parts and I have maybe $45.00 in it,I had to buy some crank seals and rings.I had all the high perf parts already so no money there,I built the hitch hauler myself from stuff I already had ,so no money there either. You guys can try to top that one but I really don't think you can.We are a special breed for sure.

Yama Cat you know I like panties!

I am just as guilty as an SJ owner when it comes to mods...

But, I will say I got a bunch of parts for cheap or free over the years buying and parting out. I just sold a trim motor and a pump from the 1100 ZXi back home in WV. Well that covered the $400 I spent on the ski and PAID for the trailer, core engine, Coffman exhaust I bought for it, all electrics, ect which I will be keeping. I still have other odds and ends from it and the hull still to sell. I am still holding out to make my 1100 tripple swap happen one day.

I want an SJ just like the next guy but when I see clapped out ones from 96-99 pull 3k when I paid 900 for each of my clean all stock not tinkered with X2... Makes me wonder why they are "soooo much better". Then the cost of used parts is an arm and a leg. Average cost of a B pipe for an SJ is 450 - 500. You can get a Coffman for an X2 for 225 max. That is more my point.

I just like buying parts. You should come see my garage :) When do you guys want to go ride again? I bought me a tour coat the other day, it should be in tomorrow. I need ot put some water time on my other X2 before I molest it. My girl back home wants the one I had out with you guys because it has "pink" graphics on it. She saw my red/clear fuel line and wants me to buy pink fuel line for it. Women...

:nana: I wasn't counting the pennies, I was just counting the mods... Truth be told all of us spend way too much money on these toys... If your girl wants pink I can help you find pink:cat37: We're ready to ride when you are!

Best trick I did that day was the superman drag behind your X2 mount yet run over that tree sticking up out of the water.

I can't ride no where like I could 5 years ago. Mid summer... cruiser wakes at the lake and my 800 installed.... I will BRAP on it!

Sorry to jack your thread Bandit. Again welcome to the club! Don't look back.

I've ridden a coulpe X-2s... I was not impressed with the ones I rode, they NEED tubbies at the very least. I'd be on the phone to surfjetlouie ASAFP.
