How can it screw up the O2 sensor?

ive ran it in fuel injected vehicles ( with O2) sensors for YEARS, probably hundreds of gallons of it ( I used to do small engine repair, and I burned all the old fuel from stuff people brought in) and NEVER had any problems at all from it.

you've actually got the loop mode backwards too.

closed loop is without any sensor feedback upon initial start up, its a rpeset fuel and timing delivery map.
after temp comes up, it goes into OPEN loop and starts to make changes based on input from the various sensors, temp and O2 and such.

it also reverts to closed loop in the event of an error, or misreading sensor ( check engine light normally throws a code)

That is incorrect. You have it backwards  Open loop occurs when an engine uses predetermined values in the program. Once the engine gets up to operating temperature, the temperature sensor in the block usually tells the engine to go into closed loop operation where it uses all the sensors together to vary timing, fuel, etc to obtain optimal performance.

You sir, are correct!

sorry, my memory has lapsed.
I drive a Toyota, therefore I don't get to exercise my engine management diagnostic skills as often as I should.

Chicken Queso Burrito from QDOBA for me please ! ! You guys are getting way too technical BTW....... All I want to know is if it will hurt my Truck if I poor say 3-4 gallons of premix that's been sitting in my trailer since Late August into my vehicle ???

if your a goof and put too much oil on your KandN filter you can screw up O2 sensors(so i've heard) so i would imagine premix wouldn't be good for your car either. It's only five gallons of gas, i would run it through the weedeaters and leafblowers before i would use it in my ski or truck.

all I can say is, ive done exactly that for a LONG time with no ill effects.

yep, you can get cancer from a meteor too.

What I've learned is that most fuels will store well only if kept in sealed metal containers. Plastic is considered permeable for the light, volatile ends of the fuel. Storage in a plastic container, even for a few days indoors will allow these to escape resulting in a substantial loss of volatility. Leaded fuels can be reliably stored in sealed metal drums for several years. Some of the more more exotic fuels(more aromatics and oxygenates) are still good for 6-9 months easily(sealed in metal). The oxygenated fuels are especially bad about losing volatility through plastic. Hope that helps!

I have put premix in my truck many times, usually from skis that I part out. I think it is safe if you put in like 5 gallons of whatever "old" gas you want to get rid of, then top off your tank at the gas station. Common sense that it would be a bad idea to fill your truck up from empty to full on premix  -Kurt

I believe this is the most correct reply so far. For an amusing story to go along with this, where are you prem1x and eschberg? (All should note prem1x's signature line)

I topped my tanks off in October and put in about a 1/3 of a small bottle of fuel stabiliser. I wasn't sure how much to put in as I didn't know the size of my tank (97 GTX). Will my fiel be OK ??

By the way, they are stored in my garage.

If its premix dont even worry about stabilizer, the oil stablizes the fuel enough, making it last about a year. The important thing about stabilizer however is to not just dump it in the tank, run the ski for a few minutes to get it in the carb and lines as well.
