If it doesn't come with the gasket it is for the early motor. Usually it states that on the instructions or packaging what year range it is for.

Ya depending on motor year there is a thick gasket. Up to 93 there is no gasket, 94 and up uses the gasket.

Figured out my issue was that I went backwards with the plate. I never had instructions to install it, nor could I find them. I sold the ski since and the plate & gasket before that. I thought it was odd that you would have to file the pick up to fit the other way, but later found out that is...

Ya that isn't my issue. It does touch the bilge hose, but my steering is stiff when the engine is running. I am thinking the straight veins in the nozzle are causing it.

Ya so it is the nozzle like I thought. Mine is the same way. If the ski stays around much longer I'm putting the 750 nozzle back on also.

I'm not sure about top speed loss, but 43 or so sounds about right. I forgot I also have the freestyle cone also. I had to put the extended plate on it to help with the porpoising.
