You need the cover on it. If you get water in the carb you will bog. I had a dime sized hole in mine and it did the same thing. I fixed the hole and am good to go... I bet if you get all the water out and go for a ride with out gitting water in it it will run fine. Then go do some stupid...

Well I got it apart and I need a new jug. I think the piston ring moved, and got caught on the port and bang... I was told this can happen if the pin moves or breaks.

It is a 94 61X It has a pipe I think it is a riva. I know it has a red riva exhaust manifold. It had 150 psi. I have a ride plat intake great. I have foot holds and what not. I have all the basics. It has a singal carb right now.

Thanks for the info. That is what I needed. I looked and yep it is a 701. It is in a 650 hull. This thing has a lot of work done. I took the head off and it has port work done to it as well.
