I am 6'6" and I put them all the way back as well. Try and ride one that has some to see how it feels for you. I guess if you are shorter you would want them up more. On the back you have the most control of what it is going to do. Just my 2 cents.

I run a Rule 750 on my ski. If you run a smaler one like the 500 it will fit there.

Put it all the way in the back on the right hand side if you are on the ski. It will fit in the corner. It will be on a slight angel but it is ok. I hope that will work for you!
