The square will plow through the chop better, but the FX-1 will be a lot more fun in the long run. They are lighter and easier to toss around for tricks. I've never rode a ski that was easier to nose stab than an FX-1.

I agree with having 2. But I voted the way I live. I have a problem. My wife talked with me about it... once. I still have a crapload of skis in all states of disassembly, but always have 2 runners, just in case you have that bad day where your #1 won't run... then there are those other days...

Your hull may have "relaxed" a little while the pump was out. I've experienced this with both my SX and my STX - they use the same pumps as the SXR.

Since this is your boat and friends driving, get them to do FAT S-curves, and you'll wind up with GIANT setup wakes. I loved doing that with my Bayliner, those waves closing together were the BEST for getting huge air, and no worries about the PO-PO messing with you for being too close to the boat.

The only disadvantage I can see with the light flywheel is the engine slows down quicker - revs up faster, slows down quicker, but it's not really a disadvantage. Lightweight flywheels are good all the way around - easier on your front crank bearings, cheap performance upgrade.

Sounds like you nailed the FX1, RMBC - they aren't for everyone, my wife didn't like hers, but I loved it. I wish I had room for all the skis that I love though... FX1 gone.
