Changed the starter and it didn't get better. It cranks easily 3 Times and then just seizes up. You hear the click from starter and then nothing. Any suggestions to this

Thanks for the help guys. Looks like I am going for the starter. Good suggestion, will check the brushes. Otherwise it looks like a Yama starter model so it shouldn't be to hard getting a new one since powerski seems to be out of business

It cranks ok without the spark plug. Yeah I am suspecting the starter aswell. Could it be something else to be honest?

Hello, so this question is regarding a powerski Jetboard engine. It is a single cylinder 2 stroke at about 45hp Anyway, I just swapped the piston and rings aswell as head gasket and bottom gasket. Compression after the swap is about 110 PSI, not alot but i think it´s sufficiant. Never tried...

Great to know that both API-TC and TCW3 works fine. I shouldn´t really worry but watercraft have a tendency to break in my hands (only 2 stroke) although never a Yamaha and i guess not because of the oil either. But engine failures always comes in bad spots on vacations so better be safe than sorry.

I know why you guys are using tcw3 oils....thats seriously cheap. Our cheapest runs at 10$ for 0.25 gallon. And thats for a mineral...an Api TC fully syn goes for 9$ equal amount so that made me wonder...before this thread.... why an api tc wouldnt work instead. But that is something i have...

So i have read alot of threads regarding this for an ordinary 701 engine. However the 760 runs much hotter and i am thinking if the tcw3 oils really are the best ones for the application? In Sweden it is both cheaper and easier to get a fully synthetic 2 stroke oil for motorcycles api tc / Jaso...

Well it think the issue is solved. it seems to have been the Cdi. I didnt have time to run any long test but it sounded fine in the short while i ran it without water. Thanks alot for the help

Thanks for the answer, i am leaning towards the CDI aswell. Will try swapping it out.

The cdi is stock. The pink wire was loose in the cdi and salt water might have grounded it for a little time. Although it is empty of water now and the wire isn't touching anything.

Could it be the cdi going nuts?

Hi, The temp sensor is cut and out of the way. Are there any other sensors in the engine able to cut the rpm? Yeah it really sounds like a rev limiter, or no fuel. Spark plugs are wet though
