we can create g code directly from the scan, however if you want this motor to actually work you would not do that. for example the bores are exactaly 118mm apart from what we can tell. the actual cast we scanned is worn/warped/imperfect. the scan mesh showed bores at 117.85mm between centers at...
All scanning is complete and the meshes are aligned and overlayed. Head and jug models are bassically done, just some waterjacket work to do. Cases will start getting modeled this afternoon
I think we can make that happen, we still have alot of actual modeling work to do though. We are hoping to have all modeling done by next week. We are sending out for quotes on stock tomorrow, hopefully getting approval to order stock next week as well.
We are going to machine a complete billet motor. We are modeling the stock cylinders just to have the data as a starting point. we will most likely be far from oem on the cyclinder we machine for IMTS2020
Thanks for the idea on the manifold/ headpipe, we will see how this motor turns out. I am not too worried about the CNC process, i work for a CNC machine tool Manufacturer and train people on programming for a living! Thanks for the link though, that dude makes some nice motors!
