That's why you have redundant straps :beerchug:

Other Trailer or hitch carrier... which do you prefer?

Use a custom trailer from a harbor freight kit now, though we have two skis. Never had a problem with the trailer and installed a giant container box on the front to store everything in. This fall when I move off to college, I'm gonna be using a hitch hauler though so I can bring my ski with me...

    foot straps good price

That's like what I started with, can't go wrong at $20. Make sure you install them well, or they will rip out.

Reliability with what? That it won't predetonate? Though yea, I agree that with advanced timing and 195psi, 93 octane is probably too low.

Unless you are hearing predetonation, I wouldn't worry. I would run race fuel if you are over 200psi, but I would think 93 would be fine at 190 +/- 5, though that's just me lol

Surfriding How to become a competitive freerider (article by Zack Bright)

Just save. Aim for a part, save for it, buy it. Same applies for big motors and a/m hulls. Obviously not being in school gives you more cash, though I don't see why you can't get a sick ski either way. A lot of the "pro" riders ride tricked out superjets anyhow, so no need for an a/m hull.

Surfriding How to become a competitive freerider (article by Zack Bright)

You don't need deep pockets for this, and you can always get sponsored if you're lucky. If this is your only hobby, no reason you can't afford a fancy ski if you upgrade it over time. Though yes, I don't see anyone living off of riding.

Super Jet 91 Shortened Flatdeck Superjet Project

Met a guy last year at the lake I go to who had a 650sx flat deck, asked the same thing. He said it was nice since the tray was so big, so you could put weight down on the ski where ever you wanted for a different approach to controlling it.

looking for some basic info on free style riding

Main thing is the SXR weighs a ton, and for freestyle you want to get as light as possible. You should be able to get the 750 to easily put out more power than the 800 (stock). Then get some footholds and start playing around. Footholds aren't needed for basic stuff, though help with the more...

    Nitrous

Yea, if you look at the top pic, the switch is the white rectangular thing between the carb and battery. The switch is set so that when the throttle cable rotates the throttle plate, at full rotation it triggers the switch. Not sure on the terminology, but in this picture of a carb, the semi...

    650/X-2 winter x2 build

I was gonna say, most people seem to run 33-35cc domes at sea level. His X2s pretty bad ass! Love the nose and hood, came out really nice I thought. I didn't ride it, but it sounded mean. I especially like how he had to zip-tie his handlebars on lol

What size domes are they? Assuming your compression test is accurate, I would lower to ~220 psi, run race gas, see how you like $10/gallon or what ever it is, and then move from there. What engine are you running? I would be afraid you'd blow your head off at 220 psi with a 650 or 750 engine...

    650/X-2 winter x2 build

You're running 300psi PER cylinder? People run race gas over about 200psi. You'd need a really strong engine to handle that I would think. I know there's a tons of variables for what octane to run, and all of us just do a very rough estimate, but are you gonna be using octane booster in your...

    Nitrous

Have a red arming switch in the tray, the fogger is inserted into the flame arrestor adapter, fuel pump tees into the fuel line going to the carb and has its own independent filter, then the two solenoids are on a plate and bolted to the side of the hull near the fuel lines, finally the nitrous...

    Nitrous

Taken it out twice, will post pics in a bit (haven't got vid yet). Running 91 octane (could of gotten 93 octane, but that wasn't at local station). At my house I get 135psi, where I ride I get around 160psi. So far I've been using a 10hp boost (with nitrous and fuel together, so that it doesn't...
