I’m only running a b pipe regardless of what motor I switch to eventually. Everything is very tight, even getting a superjet tank in there. Fighting those tubes was pissing me off haha.
Since you can’t attach videos I put the test fire up on YouTube. It was spitting to life slowly, then I took the 46sbn offand put the 44 from my fx1 on it. Same thing, kept slowly sputtering until it finally came to life little by little. Once it was able to fire right up and idle I took the video.
Little progress since talking to the person I purchased the hull from. It did have a lay down style pipe in it before so I was told it’s all good to trim the tubes back. Once I did, the water box fit nice and snug! It’s sitting on a piece of the thickest underpaid you can order from HT. Once...
I have seen it done one time locally but it’s been a while since it was a popular mod. Hoping someone wants to try to go that route, definitely open to offers.
I also wanted to ask you, what should I do with the scupper? I ride lakes and river mostly and will definitely be in the surf with this ski... can I make a plate that will close it off?
Yep JM will be the go to for the parts! Sounds like I’ve got more work to do at the job before I get more work done to the ski. I am planning on putting new parts in the ski mostly but I’m more interested in actually riding the ski with the most basic setup possible to just enjoy the hull as...
Your right about the shaft, way too long as it’s out of a wave raider but that’s the correct midshaft housing so I mocked it to make sure that’ll get the shaft pressed out and a superjet shaft pressed in.
Ran into my first issue, apparently the water box is a seriously tight squeeze and that’s trying to fit my roundnose water box in. Issue #2 is I set the motor into the hull and tried to see what the pipe figment would be like and it just ain’t happening... maybe I need a different water box or...
Not even going to act like I wasn’t nervous the ski would end up in Mexico or something crazy haha but I feel like now is as good a time as any with the borders being shut down. My transport guy ended up being a standup rider, had no clue what the ski was though thankfully haha. He was super...
That’s rad! I’m going to use this ski to get my feet wet in the AM ski game then probably try to move up to an edge fr. loved the edge and when it came out it was crazy to watch the guys do alittle of everything with that hull. Including Gomez winning a motosurf race on it! My buddy out here had...
What did you move onto? I ride mostly the river and havasu. The river as in Blythe, and parker. As well as I’ll be up in Oceanside checking out the surf eventually.
I’m keeping all the skis with their current setup but the 61x out of a wet jet Kraze is what is going in the fr-1. I need pre 08 superjet driveshaft and midshaft. Going for a mag stator section for the pump from JM eventually so I can get the full experience out of the 144 setup. Hull is...
Yea that’s a badass setup for sure! I’m thinking I’ll raise the center ski, going for my AM ski in the front. Fx1 and two squares on the back for the most part but I do have a blaster as well. Girlfriend used to like it but then it got the 760 treatment with a b pipe and head and they all hate...
That’s awesome man thanks for chiming in! I can say I’m super stoked but I’m not a picky rider and I’m an fx1 guy so I’m imagining I’ll get along with the fs-1 as my first AM ski. Basic power plant but we’ll see what I can make it do as I’m not too bad on the comfort ability of a ski and making...
I see, that’s some key info there, a lot of times you’d expect just raise the center ski up and thats only one ski that has to ride high and ride in the middle. Any reason you did the side skis on the elevation to clear the bond rail on the center ski specifically? That would make a lot of sense...
