May need you to pick up my new hull from the watercraft factory in ft Lauderdale and deliver it to MD on the way back. I'd be willing to meet you right on your route back home to make it easier on you. Send me a PM, let me know how much you would want.
I cut mine flush and added a 2 inch D-cut to it on my '13. Definitely helped make the ski react much quicker, nose stabs are way easier and the ski turns sharper. With the full length plate it was almost impossible to get the ski to slide at all. With the flush D-cut plate I can actually make it...
Made it to my first wavedaze event with Ed and the group. Had an awesome time and can't wait for future events. Appreciate all your hard work to put on such an event for us!
If someone is coming that has a good shape OEM pre-08 superjet drive shaft i'll pick it up. Or even a whole pump setup with the drive shaft still in it for a good price!
Whats your engine set up? If you are still running a pump gas 701 dual cooling is not needed. If you ride in very warm water conditions it wouldn't hurt though.
Finally an honest answer from a rickter owner. If you want something to chase down boats with an XFR is probably one of the worst hulls out there for that. It's great for its intended purpose of flat water or advanced surf but boat chasing on a choppy river is totally different.
I have absolutely abused my 2013. Hundreds of hard flat lands (both right side up and upside and everything in between) in everything from large boat wakes to 8 foot surf, including many times tumbling onto the beach in the surf. My ski has two stress cracks by the hood seal and one on the hood...
I assume by the Arden group you mean Pat, Isaac and those guys? I ride with them every once in a while but I usually ride with guys on the south river, Severn up by the bridges, and kent narrows chasing boats.
I'll have a 2013 bare hull for sale in a couple weeks as soon as my WCF hull comes in. Swap all your parts in from your current superjet and have a buoy course ripper. I'm in Annapolis so I'm local!
There is probably about a 10 pound variance in the hulls from the factory. 115-125 sounds like the correct range. Unless your hull weighs in way above this there really is no way to find out if the foam is wet besides drilling in to it. If you really want to know for sure use a small hole saw...
The definition of boat chasing is different depending on who you talk to. There's a big difference between chasing a wake board boat on a glassy lake and chasing a 45' sport fish on a river with constant wind chop and cross wakes from other boats. In general the shorter the hull the worse it...
An fs-2 handles very well at speed and does not porpoise at all. If cruising around the lake is all you do the sxr will be a better ski. If you want to throw some freestyle in to the mix while you are cruising around the lake you will love the fs-2.
This! I bough a 2013 superjet back in april. I quickly out grew it after riding a few aftermarket hulls. I now have a Vision being built and am going to swap everything from the '13 into the vision. This superjet will be the last oem hull i ever own.
No where in the paperwork on the ski does it say anything about closed course competition only. When you go in to register the ski no red flags will pop up.
It's your first ski, even if you had a $20,000 ski you wouldn't be doing flips or rolls anyway until you have become completely comfortable on a ski, for some people this might be a season of riding for others they will never be at that level. Just ride it and modify it as you go. You'll learn...
