For large companies like yamaha it's all about percentages. The percentage of stand up sales is very low to begin with, the percentage of "freestyle" ski sales is even lower. Yamaha is not going to design and build a ski that they will only sell 50 of in the United States a year. Most people...
If you flip or plan on flipping trim is almost a necessity. If you don't flip or plan on flipping it won't do anything for you.

Both o'neill and rip curl are good suits. I have an o'neill 2-3, 3-4, and a 5-4. I can wear the 5-4 comfortably in air/water temps down into the mid 40's. The 4-3 is good for temps down into the mid 50's.

On tapatalk I do not see a way to view the "what's new" page to see threads that have posts I have not read. Not sure if you guys are aware of this or not and I'm not complaining just giving a heads up!
The post 08 hulls will do that on glass water. Ive ridden 4 or 5 of them and owned a 2013 this season. They all do it. It takes some time to learn how to compensate for it. Some people may never notice it depending on riding conditions and body position.
Just like any other form or motorsports. Buy and use what you can afford. If you cant afford a 8 second race car but enjoy the sport of drag racing build a 11 second car for half the cost. Theres different levels. Yes the upper level of stand up jetskis are expensive for a "jetski" but that...
10k barely gets you a dog box transmission for a Honda drag car, 10k doesn't even get you one out drive for a offshore race boat, 10k does get you a pretty badass stand up jet ski though.
Exactly. Those problems were worth mentioning but to imply that the hull was poorly built because of them was a bit drastic. From the sounds of speedysprocket's posts it seemed like the ski was ready to fall apart at any second.
I also feel there is an inherited risk with building and owning a lightweight fiberglass hull. Sure a fiberglass rickter is almost bulletproof but its also a 115 pound hull. A 80 pound fiberglass hull will not be as strong as a 115 pound hull (assuming similar materials of course). Now build a...
That is exactly what happened. It was lawn darted from about 15 feet up into waste deep water. Whether or not it hit an object on the bottom is hard to say but obviously possible. The hit was hard, I don't think you could expect any hull to withstand it.
The problem with using pissers as hand warmers won't do anything when you end up swimming in the water or of the ski breaks down. I think you are under estimating how warm a good wetsuit and good wetsuit style gloves and boots keep you. You can literally swim in 40 degree water and not be cold...
A pair of 1.5mm wetsuit style gloves do the trick perfectly in water deep into the 40's. A pair of 3mm keep your hands warm in any water temp but make it a little tough to get a good grip on the bars. And a pair of 7mm boots keep your feet warm. I don't quite understand the whole hand...
I wouldn't worry about running higher compression just make sure to run 93 octane fuel. I put 110 hours on my 62t set up this year with 185 psi and B pipe. Just did a compression test and still have 185 psi. Ski is a boat chaser so it sees plenty of wide open throttle.
Have you ridden an aftermarket hull? If you only have 4 months of experience you may not feel very comfortable on one. Most first seasons riders that I have seen get on an aftermarket hull don't care for it but love a superjet. I feel like the best thing to do is buy a used superjet in the 5k...
My vision showed up today!
Doing business with Steve was great .My hull was finished in a timely manor. Steve kept me updated with pictures on a regular basis and promptly answered any questions I had during the process.
The quality of the hull is great. Very finished in the bilge, 100%...
