And what kind of riding do you do? That is the biggest concern for the OP. Between wind chop and boat traffic we almost never get to chase a boat in calm conditions. Keep in mind our idea of chasing a boat is riding at 30+ mph for miles, not hitting it once and quitting.
You made that way hard on yourself. Use a drill bit the size of the plug (I want to say a 3/8 bit but don't hold me to that) and drill out the cap. Most of the time once the bit grabs it spins the cap right out. If not just drill all the way through it. Takes about 30 seconds per cap.
The only place it says anything about competition use only is the sticker on the hull. No where on the paperwork does it say anything about it. The DNR doesn't know or care about it. So you have no problems registering it.
If your dealer won't sell you one without a license either go online...
If only people on here would understand the amount of time and effort that Zack, Mark, Ryan and the rest of those involved put into dialing in those flips I think there would be a whole lot less hate. Give these guys more time on one and the possibilities are endless
I have not ridden an Evo so can't comment on that. I have ridden two -2 freaks. The freak and the vision are honestly not even comparable skis. Two completely opposite rides. The vision carves on rails and turns instantly. The freaks slide and stay flat when turning. The vision feels more...
I haven't had the chance to ride a full length one but I love my -4 in the surf. I can't imagine that I would want to give it up for a full length one. I even bought an extended ride plate thinking I'd want to use it when I ride surf. The extended plate has been hanging on the wall in the garage...
Anything behind the first wake is waste of a perfectly good wake. It's pretty cool when the driver of a 45+ foot boat (who we personally don't know) sees us in the distance, deliberately slows down to throw a wake and flags us over to hit it. I think people on here would be surprised at how...
I currently have the pro trim but would like to test out the classic. Can the parts be purchased to convert the pro to a classic without purchasing the entire trim system?
If the air is that cold you need 3mm gloves. Yes hand warmers with 1.5mm gloves are another option at that point. Hand warmers don't work if the ski breaks or if your swimming 100 feet to the ski. At least in 1.5mm gloves your hands won't end up with frostbite. I'd prefer that setup when it's...
I get kick out of people that insist on running pissers to hand/feet/body in colder weather instead of just getting proper gear. A 5-4 suit, 7mm boots and 1.5mm or 3mm gloves and you will be perfectly fine even in 40 degree water. With that setup you could float in 40 degree water all day and...
Only put a couple rides on my vision before the weather turned but ended up being so happy with the ski and Steve's customer service that I already have been debating stepping up and getting him to build me a carbon hull by the end of the season.
I would definitely be interested in one of the...
Agreed. Even if she gets an aftermarket hull it would make much more sense to sell the sxr and pick up a superjet for the same price to use as a donor ski. That way she has as superjet to ride until she decides on a hull, and it gives many more options for hulls. Plus a yamaha setup is more...
Yeah! The OP lives in our area and has ridden with us before so we are trying to direct her in the right direction for the type of riding available in our area.
Chasing a wakeboard boat on a lake is way different than chasing 45+ foot sport fish on a choppy river. You can't ride a short hull out here and keep up with the boats. It doesn't matter how "stable" it is, if it's really short it's not going to work. We pass over wakes from wakeboard boats...
Lacey, neither one of those hulls will be any good for chasing boats in our area. If you want to chase boats a superjet with foot holds and quick steer would be the best ride for you. If your stuck on getting an aftermarket hull I would say get a full length hull like a fs2, vision or...
