I agree. I don't think tubbies are a necessity by any means but I think the added buoyancy in the front will help a little when carving hard and late on the face of a wave. Seems like some pros ride with them and some don't. I'm curious what (if any) drawbacks there are to running them
Yours had foam visible when you cut the hole for the bow eye? My carbon edge did not have any. Was wondering if there was any foam in there at all.
Have you tried the ninja foot holds? I have found them much more comfortable than the regular holds. Can run them as tight as I want without...
So basically you have learned that rickter riders prefer rickters and superfreak riders prefer superfreaks. I guess if you think about that it actually makes sense! Haha
A carbon rickter edge is comparable to a carbon superfreak badass weight wise. We had both on a scale back to back. They were within a few pounds of each other.
The Edge truly does it all. Have yet to ride anything else that is as versatile. The Vision hull has probably been the closest to being as versatile but has a few quirky handling traits.
I have not had the chance to ride a -4.3 superfreak but I have ridden two different -2's a bunch and a...
I mean by changing the correction factors on the dyno program the HP numbers can be varied in many ways so comparing one guys dyno number to another guys dyno number is not necessarily accurate. Brand X can easily make their engine look like it makes more power on paper then Brand Y but in...
I can make my dyno read whatever I want it to read. HP numbers are kind of irrelevant in any form of motor sports. Yes they are a great tuning tool but at the end of the day the true results show when the engine is put to its intended use, can't fudge those numbers.
Have you had any problems from leaving the MSD on without the ski running? The switch seems to be the most unreliable part of my total loss set up. I always unhook my battery at the end of the day when I'm done riding anyway.
Not at all. Just a vary tunable pipe which is great being that every engine set up so drastically varies in what it needs to perform correctly.
Mine installed per directions also out performed a well set up b-pipe but I found there was a lot left with tuning the RRP, where as a b-pipe is not...
I did some testing with this today. I'm finding similar results as you. I was having a very inconsistent "rich" issue off idle. Clearly my problem was due to the waterbox loading up with water. Adding the fcv completely eliminated the issue. I tried many settings for the fcv from opening just...
So do you now prefer to run just a flow control before the water box or do you still restrict it with a 2.5 n&s as well? Going to play around with this a little bit to see what happens
A carbon edge is surprisingly flat water capable. Its amazing what a little less weight can do for a hull. I think I would rather have a glass one in the surf though.
I have not ridden a predator so I can't comment on them, they seem like great riding hulls. You can not go wrong with an Edge though. Agile like a shorter hull but stable like a longer hull. Removable rear sponsons completely change the handling characteristics of the hull to suit riding...
