148 pump done right is miles better than a stock pump and even a 144 solas mag.....it kills in surf riding...you won't ever go back...so just sand out that pump shoe properly
That suggests you way lean imo you need to drop the pop off from stock 55 psi to around 30 psi with that setup....will give more fuel to rev....might also go up to 75 pilot......
180 psi is way higher than stock....and you have A B pipe. .do you know what your pop off pressure is and pilot size jets.....does it bog down when its in the water ?
I believe the staggered jetting for couches had to do with pronounced crankshaft twist causing the rear piston to run way hotter than the front one under WOT...so they richened up the rear HS jet to prevent lean seizure under WOT....I could have dreamed this up though, so others please chime in.
Agree. U need to check the actual pop off psi......with just a b pipe on stock motor.....40 psi is fine.....make sure the n/s is not leaking....that means pop off should be a big pop and not a slow fizzle
Not at all likely...geez..would not run that clean. Have u run it in water yet.....sounds just like a modified rev limiter which is set too low....engine runs great until it hits that limit
At 120 psi in both pots.....u got the domes wrong or gaskets too thick.....but good news...if it starts. Ride it....no damage too be done.....just no power....evens that's relative so....go ride and give some feedback
You can spray some fuel mix into the air filter intake as you rev the throttle. If it screams to the rev limiter every time you hit the throttle ..not elect but carbs more likely
the piston that is almost clean on top and the dome from the head look like they are been steam cleaned by a small leak in the head gasket ...I think that would lower the temperature of that side of the cylinder due to the cooling effect of the steam...(i think)....so which piston is that....the...
Do your leakdown test again......in my experience if the cases cant hold a steady pressure of 10 pounds.....even dropping a pound or two......that's a big problem......rotate the crank while it's under pressure and see if the leak worsens.....I had a similar situation where I could not imagine...
this sounds legit
2 stroke reed valve engine. Reeds are a check valve. A one way valve. They keep the mixture from being pushed back into the carb. Many engines are also of the piston port design.
People understand that the air fuel mixture is created by the air rushing past the venturi and...
Hi
In the pic you can maybe notice that the jbweld is slightly lower than the surface of the casing where the port job has taken away almost all of the alumium...its the same on the other piston hole.....leak developed and caused a runaway condition.....question is ...which sealer to use to fix...
I am swoping out my stock 144 pump and putting in a new 148 H2O setback.....thing is I really really dont want to take the motor and midshaft housing out and use my cold fusion alignment tool just get the new pump aligned even though I suppose its the " right way to do it"....anyone have a...
They are not generic mounts....you need either new stock mounts or aftermarket mounts......however. If you want to do a fix which actually lasts for years...I know this. I have done it many times.....go buy some stainless steel counter sink self tapping screws ....drill 4 holes from. The top...
