If its not bowed in the middle. U can run it no worries. Nothing bad going to happen. My experience is if it vibrates more badly as you rev it ...like the ski moves if its on the garage floor then u way out of alignment or shaft is bad out of centre
I have my PFP setup to run both the dry cooling method and also i have an injector (wet setup ) simultaneously.....basically because I ride surf mostly and the sand filter before the injector always blocks......thing is...i dont know what its doing to the power band.......ski rips my arms...
Hi
I have a trim lever next to my start stop housing on a normal straight handle bar setup, however on my RRP taper bars the start stop housing does not fit on the bars where I need them in order to fit a trim lever
Do i have to grind / ream the inside hole in the start stop housing until it...
flywheel gear ring is definately shot...bendix looks fine.....either a new / good flywheel or u can have the ring gear removed and another one fitted (which u get from a secondhand flywheel which is buggered somewhere else...eg. magnets loose or woodruff key slot damaged, etc...machine shop can...
In fact...you want to also run a heavy duty cable (like the black negative battery cable) from your engine block to the aluminium case of the ebox....this is good insurance so that your earths are rock solid and you wont fry your stator to ebox leads anytime...which happens at the worst of times.
Where I live ......if it's not locked it's gone....so I use a six foot long beefy chain and two stainless steel padlocks I bought from a Marine supply store in Cali. I wrap the chain around the handle pole close to the handlebars and lock it and then again either to my beach dolly if there is...
If your bendix is slipping you can drop the whole thing in a solvent to dissolve any oil grease that may have got inside....leave it in for a day or two...then blow it out with high pressure air jet....and try using it again.
Hi
Stop testing your starter the way you are doing it.....there is no bushing location the end of the bendix as that sits inside the flywheel cover housing....so now you are stripping the bendix / starter gears as the whole thing is flopping around and grinding the teeth.
One of your starter...
Ditto here.....have a set on my SF badass dual novi 48's....they sit lower than the stock air filters....For my TPE1105 I had to take the dirt screens off to solve a rich mixture problem i was battling with..
imo the best air filter for surf riding period.
Hey McDog
not to thread jack....
Your TPE is now happily ripping my arms off in my -4 Badass carbon SF for the past 6 months...tks a million...it was a great deal....incredible power.
I am sure the Circus with a PHP TL and the rest will be similar.
Rowley is going to be very happy.
So those two pieces were almost welded together. 4 foot chain wrench lots of heat 6 ton press and it gave up a fraction at a time..45 mins workout and I managed to save the coupler..mostly..just because a new one is 3 weeks delivery and it's riding season here....will order new ones anyway...
I had it in a press and tried a four foot long bar and it shattered this way.....its a normal thread so counterclockwise to unscrew......going to try heat and see if it breaks loose
tks for the insights guys..... much appreciated...I think I will push the new midshaft on its own over the mounted pump and driveshaft as far as it will go.....mark the position on the midshaft relative to the bulkhead, and then push it into midshaft housing and try to use washers on coupler and...
for sure..cant see in there clearly but, def throw away....cant take the risk....it let go in surf riding...at the worst of times as usual, so all new stuff coming but its a set back shaft and I need about 7 mm more in length...so will take JM a couple of weeks as he out of town.
tks v much...JM already on it...trying to get a bit longer shaft, else I will have to use washers behind the engine coupler to push the new midshaft out more...AM hull.
even so...the breakdown of the splines seems rather odd imo. and also the very short space of time I got out of it....just...
