You took out throttle signal by reducing the restriction which was your factory air box. That's why it clears up Wien you add a little choke. What was your original pop off and what is it now?

Best bet is to watch for a deal on a blaster2 part out what you don't need run the 650 flywheel cover and electronics, mod the stock 44s on the 760. By then you'll want to be running a b pipe. The stock 650 exhaust will choke it down a bit.
If a good deal on a 650 comes up don't pass on it. When you have the funds a 760 will drop right in. Msd enhancer and some compression and you have a really good rider. And all the while you can be honing your riding skillz.
The older square nose skis handle the same as a round nose up to a 2007. All have the same bottom deck. The 08+ have the pump set back and tubies. I would say what ever you can buy. The older ones really aren't dropping any more in value. It's summertime so everyone wants a 3500 for there...
What was the compression on both cylinders? 120 145. I had the same issue. Replace the head gasket. Be sure you top deck is flat. My cylinders had a wonky top cylinder. Blew 2 gasket in the same spot. Resurfaced the cylinders and its gold now. My motor was freshly rebuilt too;). Not by me:(...
