    Octane snow sled big bore??

Dial-a-domes are rather neat, but not worth $600 unelss your always changing elevations. They work great on sleds in mountains to change compression on the fly. The exhaust valves on the VES sled motors are huge, they are not going to work with the B-pipe. I am going to fab up some different...

    Octane snow sled big bore??

Mocking it up...May need to run a dry pipe with the side draft manifold. Not sure if the B pipe head pipe is going to hit the PVs. I am running the water into the stock polaris snowmobile water log intake into the case. Simple install, just need to also run cooling water to the exhuast mani...

    Octane anyone have watcon porting

Mikuni's are almost a must IMO, definately the best mod I have done. I rode an Octane over the summer with 48 novi's, MSD TL and a Waton girdled head. The ski had awesome bottom end hit, the middle was not a ton different than mine with the stock ignition. Mikuni's can be done with a budget...

    Octane anyone have watcon porting

Get rid of the stock carbs and go with sbn mikuni's. Increase compression, I used 1200 domes and took .020 off. Either get a MSD TL setup, or lighten the OEM flywheel. I am also running V-Force III reeds, they seem to help the bottom a bit. This combo of mods will help the bottom end a good...

    Octane octane flywheel

I am going to try this wheel this year. Has over .7# of material removed. Feels much lighter in hand than the stock one. Should dramatically help bottom end rev.

    Octane Single Carb Manifold

I made one, but never tried it. I used a single carb manifold that comes stock on a Virage. Certain Virage and SLTH models came with a single Keihin. Simply cut the top off the mani and weld on a Mikuni style mount. Does a big single really work better than dual 46 SBN's???

Octane mikuni intake manifold and some other questions

I emailed Harry at Group K. Asked him if he offers a flywheel lightening service for Polaris Octane flywheels. He said that "the Polaris flywheel design does not lend itself will for the lightening service." If someone tries it, lets see some pics.

Octane mikuni intake manifold and some other questions

The VES top end I am trying uses 88.85mm pistons that should be around 910cc. I need to install the engine and try and fit the exhaust. The VES cylinders are not ideal, I wish I had a non VES big bore setup. The exhaust manifold bolts up at an angle, rather than straight, not sure if the pipe...

Octane mikuni intake manifold and some other questions

Randy claims that the Polaris wheel is not very strong as is, supposedly it will crack if milled down. I am also going to try it this summer if I can't find a MSD setup.

Octane What is a Mint 2004 Hull and motor worth???Magnum Pump>>??

The ski complete is probably worth around $3500-4000. The pump can be installed in a SJ with some fab, but it is very heavy.

Octane mikuni intake manifold and some other questions

It would be awesome to see some pictures of a lightened Polaris Flywheel. I have never seen one that has been milled down. Randy told me that was not a good idea.

    Octane snow sled big bore??

I actually need a piston for this big bore top end, but I don't know where to get it. It is a Weisco, says 88.82 on the top. I have looked into ordering one and can't find one. Anyone have experience? RKM??

    Octane snow sled big bore??

Bottom end differences seem minimal. Looks like the sled case could be used, but some machining would be required. I noticed that the EME boats use the Sled bottom end, not sure if that is the way to go or not.

    Octane snow sled big bore??

Sled top end Possible??? I have mocked up the two different cylinders on my Octane bottom. On the right, 88.85mm Polaris snowmoible big bore. On the left, stock octane, .5mm over. The obvious difference is the exhaust exit area. Not sure the best way to route the cooling water. The sled...

    Octane snow sled big bore??

The rotating assembly in the Polaris is very heavy. The crank is really beefy, the flywheel is a tank.

    Octane snow sled big bore??

Yeah, I am not too sure how this top end is going to work in a watercraft application. Mostly due to the port heights and triple exhaust port being designed for a snowmobile, not a ski. Although, I have ridden a octane with sled non-VES cylinders and the thing ripped.

    Johnson's 920 x-2 polaris powered

Ahh, thanks, I missed that detail. So is this setup using the original snowmobile bottom end? Is that simply a drop in sled motor? I am working on putting a 910 top end on my Octane bottom. Maybe I should just simply use the complete 910 sled engine??

    Octane snow sled big bore??

I am working on putting a 910cc top end on my Octane bottom end. Just starting to figure out what is required. I have a Polaris VES top end that uses 88.85mm Weiscos. I am using that along with a SLP billet head. All was removed from a big bore sled. I will post more info as I go along with...
