From my notes, on a 61x 701 SJ and Fx1 ( straight from phone call to Carl on a black "Rev" series pipe..) a pic of pipe style for reference. The DBP or Dallas Baker pipe was the same manifold and horn just a 90 degree stainless expansion chamber

You can run a 144 pump in the fx1 cavity whist still using the oem 122mm shoe. if you can get your stock shoe out with out destroying it, you can enlarge the opening "close" to the 144 inlet. IT will not be a true 144 but save a lot of work glass wise in the shoe area.. many guys have done it...
Get the Limited and don't look back. I had a 94 sx with sudco carbs and wnet thru 2 Coffman pipes and then got a limited FPP. set the water screws accordingly and jetting. make sure your pump is up to snuff with at least a 9/17 skat. a C75 large hub swirl makes a huge difference over a smaller...
buy a few pieces of aluminum rod ( easy to shape to hull contours) say 1/8" thick or even a wooden or fiberglass dowel rod like your put in a kite to open the wing up.. honestly whatever you want and coat in in your resin, slightly sand your exisiting chines to the shape you want. and cover...

At least they have care and guilt for their accident/mistake. I have seen many a shops tear up vehicles and simply say "contact your insurance company or that they are limited liability and not responsible for damage, accidents, theft or the like. Sounds like your a cool cat about it and know how...
My buddy's a waterfowl freak. Bearings took a dump on highway. He kept on gettin it. Now I have to replace an axle and hub and 2 tires.. Season is almost up. Tick tock. Looks like I get to spend the better part of a day sourcing local parts.
148. It will allow for changes and whenever you build progresses further. By the time you get a larger motor you may be thinking different hulls or setback what have you. For the cost the 148 is hard to beat if that is your price point and budget. 144 mags are very nice and can support 900cc...
some of the flywheel and stators pre 2002 were " high start " which had about a 10 degree advance on them. most Elecs after 2003 were standard. The subsequent model year stators tend to last longer than the pre 2002.
The mounting tabs are welded onto the pump and exit nozzle to utilize the stock holes. Just drilling new holes is not as it seems. You'd be exposing the foam and compromising the tray and rear of hull to water intrusion and still have to attach the pump some how using a insert nut or similar...
Gotta have a clean shop for a new build, just sets the vibe. Makes the thought process less stressful and taxing when working on projects. Very nice smitty I like it
