Freestyle Smittys gonna be RIPpin on a budget!

image.jpeg Finally home from work and able to build something. I wanted to build a "budget" or "rec" ski. Something reliable that wouldn't break the bank and could flip with small power. I contacted Jeff and went with a RIP. The hull came in at 80lbs which is very satisfying to me.
I'm going to be using a Superjet for a partial donor.
This is going to be a very basic lpw 760, b pipe, enhancer, and a 9/15.

Gotta have a clean shop for a new build, just sets the vibe. Makes the thought process less stressful and taxing when working on projects. Very nice smitty I like it

image.jpeg Setting up the nozzles today. Lots of tweaking for maximum throw and no rubbing. I'm going to try and use a 155mm nozzle that measures in at around 92mm vs: the 144 that comes in at just under 87mm.

Progress has been slow. Got the engine out. Going to semi tear down, inspect o rings, inspect the guts and probably rebuild the carbs. Shes no looker but a little ripper. I cant wait to see what it does in a hull thats 50lbs less.

I should start a "smittys RIPpin apart his house!" Thread... It's been a struggle to strap down and focus on this build with everything going on.

Small update. Pump is in. No shims needed just as Jeff claimed. Pretty impressive. My cold fusion pump alignment tool agreed also!

got one of @wrighteous pole brackets in the mail today. Very nicely made.
Going to drill holes and instal tomorrow.

Making progress today. Got the mount drilled, breather tubes in, steering cable in, and lining up the bars with the nozzle now. Im in need of a little extension for the steering cable. My cable ends are nearly maxed out..

Did you use the extension that came with the thrust trim already?
