To be able to flip a ski with 701 on flat water, you need a very light and short hull. You will also need a lot of hours of practice to make it happen and flips will have minimum air time with 701.
Rickter will not be your besr bet for what you want as rickters are heavy skis. Comp carbon...
All engines with non billet cases are same price up to 1100cc 10mil.
Its all about fine tunning to get the most out of those engines. A short ski with that power will be a lot of flat water fun either glass or carbon
Probably the factory puts foam on FR or glass hulls but not in carbon ones.
I have tried ninja holds. I dont like that your feet cant get out of them sideways. Ninja holds lock your feet too good I would say.
For flat water, im sure they are the best, but for surf I am a bit scared to be locked...
Tray on the Edge is quite deep. I have put an additional thin layer of padding (the green one) and the long bow eye barely had some thread underneath. Rickter Edge tray is filled with foam. I put some 5200 once I drilled the hole around the foam inside the hole to try seal it as much as I can...
As others said Rickter is probably the cleanest and most acurate built hull on the market. It is also the strongest. As for the weight, why would you need light ski in the surf? Surf/freeride ski has to be heavy.
The edge requires a bigger engine. My rickter handles night and day just by...
I bough mine from local hardware store with 10mm heads. I only had to grind off the tip of the screws and it turned pretty close to OEM but with reliable and long lasting 10mm head. You gotta be careful tho as they tend to strip through the plastic if overthightened..
I was thinking to eventually move ebox on the side and make room for 2nd tank. Thats a good feedback, thanks.
How do you have it mount it? Is hull drilled through for the mount brackets?
Its a bit hard, but with set of needle pliers to help the nut under the plates it did the job for me. once the bolts on top catch a little thread you are all good to adjust the motor mounts.
I would start with the Legend Pierre Maixent and his complete double backflip in the surf back in 2009. After that last flat landing his new Rickter at the time broke all motor mounts and pretty much got trashed...
