    External Fuel Pumps

I found one very vague post where some claimed it helps seperate the engine vibration from the pumps increasing efficiency, and one that said it helps engines that don't get enough fuel from the internal pump. But to me, I look at having two pumps is better then one? So is the external that much...

    External Fuel Pumps

Can someone explain why so many use the external fuel pumps on their larger engines? Is this a necessity? Advantages/disadvantages?

    No, will come from Art.

    Engine tech 967

Spoke with Art last night. Price is unbeatable, and thinking I'll be going with a ET967 as well! This review just helps sway my decision.

    Carbon For Reinforcing

Yeah, the tapping idea seems a bit sketchy, I know a lot of people do it, but running a tap in and out loosens up the threads.

I would assume it's best to try and do the bottom in complete sheets of glass, right? I've been trying to figure out what to do about all the inserts and stuff, perhaps lay the glass out dry, and cut out holes/sections to go around the inserts, then lay it in and wet it out?

    Carbon For Reinforcing

Thanks! I would still just be able to wet this fabric out by hand too if I chose not to vacuum bag it, right?

    Carbon For Reinforcing

Yeah, once it was clarified that I wet it out first I realized that. Well, since I suppose I'll just go the glass route, any recommendation on weight glass to use?

Oh, sorry didn't notice that. How does the vacuum connector seal to the film? Do you use the tape, or is there some sort of seal on the connector/film? Sorry, just new to this and videos I've watched don't do the best job of showing how it all works.

So as far as the process goes I just wet it out in place, then cover it in the bagging material and put it under vacuum? I though you had to have some sort of reservoir where they resin gets sucked in and wets the fabrics out at the same time it's being vacuumed.

Yami-rider, would you be able to share a bit of the stuff you bought and where you got it?

    Carbon For Reinforcing

Oh, it has nothing to do with looks whatsoever. I just figured I could get by with less carbon fabric than glass and be stronger at the same time. Most of it wont even be seen either.

    Carbon For Reinforcing

Thanks Vumad! That helps, but doesn't vacuum bagging require all sorts of hoses, pumps, and other materials? I've always wanted to learn the process, but seemed like a substantial upfront cost for materials? I do have a bunch of extra glass fabric, maybe I'll go ahead and just do some glass...

    Carbon For Reinforcing

I was under the impression his first few glass ones had the problems, then when he realized they were too light he laid em up heavier. I haven't had any problems out of mine and have beat on it pretty good. Many failed rolls off boat wakes and flops. Not a single stress crack. Just didn't like...

    Carbon For Reinforcing

Yeah, mine is a later chan was delivered end of Dec. early Jan. 2013/2014. Was also told it had been laid up heavier too. But the pole bracket area flexing bothers me. I haven't cracked any of the gel coat or anything, but still bothers me.

    Carbon For Reinforcing

That seems like a good thought, but a bit more than I was looking to do just for piece of mind. If carbon is unable to be just laid by hand I'll prob scrap the idea all together. Or just do s couple layers of glass in the bracket area and be done.

    Carbon For Reinforcing

Remember my comments about preparing for the worst? Lol but my main concern is the flexing the handle pole bracket does on the bracket area on the ski. When my handle pole is tight, the bracket flexes when I push the pole up/down. The bottom was just going to be since I had everything out, I'd...
