    Carbon For Reinforcing

No, it would just be hand laid in the bottom on the hull. And I'd flip the hull upside down to do the bracket area.

Ha, don't let me scare you, as you've read plenty of people run their skis with nothing but a scupper. I just don't like doing that. People could also argue that bilges could fail, switches could fail, etc. but, that's also why I check it all before I ride. In that shallow of a lake, I wouldn't...

If I'm riding mine are switched on 100% of the time, that way as soon as water gets inside its on its way out. Also, if I was to get separated from the ski and unable to get to the switch, or the lanyard breaks and the ski runs away, they are running as well. I'm a big prepare for the worst...

Yeah, but I always prepare for the worst. And being one of the lakes I ride in is 70-90 feet deep, I'd rather try and avoid the situation. Or the expense of paying someone to try and find it.

Yeah, that's true, but that's why my bilges are mounted under the midshaft up against the bulkhead.

We'll see if you feel the same way in the even something goes wrong and your ski goes down[emoji6]

My ski doesn't really see salt water. And if it does, it's flushed thoroughly,

Oh, I'd never use scuppers either. For me, sealed tray with foam and two bilges is the only way. I also don't want to fool with shoving a bunch of crap inside my hull and worrying about pulling it out every time I want to take something apart, or worry about it coming loose and getting tangled...

I suppose, but seems having a sealed tray with foam and using scuppers would be a safer option. With limited downside.

Is there some sort of reasoning behind no bulkhead? I've never understood that? Is it for weight savings? It's definitely not for strength?

Ok, well, 8lbs I don't think that would make that huge of a difference?

    Carbon For Reinforcing

It's not going to be anything big, just a small 8"x8" square under the handle pole and maybe a layer or two down the very center "trough" section on my hull. You think 3 layers is needed? Never seen carbon cloth in person so not sure how thick it is Also, not necessarily doing it because I feel...

Foam and some sort of retriever line and be done. Never understood the no foam thing. Just doesn't make sense for the couple lbs you save, especially for a rec rider. As for insurance, and those paying for it, we'll see what happens if you ever go to make a claim, just like the OP has...

    urethane foam

I sure as hell wouldn't cut into a new ski just to put in foam. I think you'll be fine! No bulkhead, for me, would be a definite no go, though. That's a bit much for me

Seems to me, if it was supposed to be sealed it should leak that much. But, as a lot say, many leak. If say put some ball type hull drains on it and be done.

    Carbon For Reinforcing

Hey guys, Got a quick question. I'm planning on doing a bit of reinforcing on my ski this winter, but I am new to the carbon world. Just going to do a bit of reinforcing on the bottom of my ski, and around the handle pole bracket, but not sure what type/weight carbon to buy. Any...

You had 1-2 gallons of water in your tray after riding 15 minutes!? Is it supposed to be sealed?
