Sources on 2-stroke theory - Performance related

Thanks guys, I am not attempting to start a engine building business or anything like that. More or less just trying to learn more for the sake of knowledge, its all very interesting. "You have to run race gas with that setup". I always wonder 'why' but I think its because the knowledgeable...

Sources on 2-stroke theory - Performance related

In a world of jetskis where tribal knowledge trumps pretty much any other source of information, does anyone have any good sources as far as books, articles, manuals, etc. that scientifically explain performance extraction of 2-stroke engines? It does not need to be directly related to...

61X Engine Build — big bore, porting, crank, jetting

Couple hundred bucks and you can get your cylinders ported professionally by a reputable builder if you don't want to 'just do whatever' hoping for the best.

    New hull

I know this thread is old but my .02 is that people just need to realize and accept that volume is hugely important when it comes to cost. Everything in this industry is VERY low volume and in a lot of cases hand built, thus you will pay extra for it. Many do not realize that setting up for...

    Elemental Covers

What exactly is the material used? We talking something nice like sunbrella that won't break down and fade in a month? Or cheap crap that has been custom fit to certain skis?

How I set my ski on fire and then sunk it.

Holy..... now that is the definition of an abused superjet.

How I set my ski on fire and then sunk it.

Do you have foam in your ski? I've had a cooling line pop off before causing the whole thing to go under in my heavy waterlogged squarenose. Despite the weight, the stock foam still floated the rear end fine. Got to the shoreline with pretty much zero struggling to fix and fire up and keep...

    1994 superjet bending/delamination

All my squarenose superjets I ever owned were wavy like that, maybe not always that bad, but I would definitely consider this normal.

    ELECTRIC IS HERE!

Hoping this thread doesn't start turning into fringe 'news' tinhat discussion thread.... you guys already have that in the off-topic section.

    ELECTRIC IS HERE!

I'm not here to say what is right or wrong.. I think the argument is that the electric cars, which are not perfect, and have plenty of efficiency losses before the power makes it to the motors, is technically more efficient than petrol, even if it is not by much. So this would also require the...

    ELECTRIC IS HERE!

Just to be fair, battery energy density is obviously still not good compared to a burning fuel.. But it has gotten WAY better since 2004 which your graph has indicated.

Yep and it is more than just Porsche developing bio fuels, lots of cool stuff happening.

I have flexvolt tools, honestly I love them. There's a time and place to use the chainsaw and heavy duty use is not one of them, there's no replacement for a gasser if you have to do a lot of work.

    ELECTRIC IS HERE!

136hp 500 lbs vs SXR1500 550lbs 160hp, I bet it'll be pretty quick at least. Maybe not super fun but this is cool nonetheless! It only takes more time to get the energy density of the batteries up, we'll get there. Someday I hope.

Back From the Dead - Yamaha FX-2

You need to splash this hull, I would drop money on an aftermarket FX-1 hull. I don't think anyone does them anymore.

What killed the forum? How can it be revived?

Side topic, but I discovered that in the upper left on instagram all the way at the top, there is a dropdown to change from 'favorites' to 'following'. It makes the experience tolerable again instead of 3 ads followed by 1 post you might be interested in, then maybe a post by someone you...
