any advice on how to "properly" install the hood mounting hardware?
i screwed around with it last night for a bit, but because you can't see the hook hooks under neath the hood "wings", it makes it damn near impossible.
any ideas welcomed.
this is my second 'freak. first time i...
thanks man - hope to not have this drag out!
stock length - 96-07'
thanks dude - i enjoyed following your build as well.
if i was starting from complete scratch, i'd probably just buy the package you are on now and be done with it!
Read the last sentence of my post :smashfreakB:
Hopefully primed by the end of the weekend.
Paint work through out next week (top one night, bottom another night, etc).
This machine is going to be a handful to say the least, and is the second Superfreak build I have done. The last one was around a -5.5" (sold it a few months ago). This one is around a -10", with a widened handle pole bracket area so I can run a more conventional style pole bracket with spring...
this is NOT the thread to debate / discuss that - this is Bobby's build this.
but my answer is: whatever hull you feel most comfortable on in both situations :Banane09:
Read that thread carefully - the order from the Dealer to the Ski Clinic was that they were to be used as Surf hulls and getting a lot of abuse. They built them accordingly and were built with fiberglass, not carbon. Cost brand new was around $3500 on those (not including the shipping and other...
they had one there they were assembling that the top and bottom had not yet been joined.
they were doing the inserts / motor mounts / cooling tubes on it.

Yes it was very last minute but worked out great.
Also, the Tahoe trip you mentioned, I hit up every resort you just listed in one...
Incorrect.
X Scream and Superfreak Hulls (Tem) have been in discussions behind the scenes about this since the concern was brought up awhile ago.
X Scream has a modification they do specifically to the motor to make it fit the 'Freak.
Rather then just grind the bottom off the the case/front...
I've been meaning to share my experience since I got back and finally have a moment.
2 months ago, the girlfriend comes to me and says she wants to run the half marathon at Disney, which at that time was about one month away. I think to myself hmmm, wonder if we can visit XScream to check out...
i plan on running a Ballistic 16 cell on my new setup (xs1200 / total loss).
this is what Pat Bogart was running on his machine when i was down there visiting and we were at the lake all afternoon.
TONS of start / stops, and even an instance where the motor took on a bit of water and the plugs...
good work - but i am wondering why you made your mold THEN coated the inside of it with the blue paint?
why didn't you use tooling gelcoat, then pile on the glass over that?
that would have given you a nice, durable finish for the inside of the mold for future parts.
either way - made props...
