Doubt it’s the impeller..that’s what I run and I can go from sliding on a wave to fully hooked up and launching a heavy superjet out of the water with a properly tuned motor..
I do the rope meathod..I strap the engine down and use heat and a big breaker bar over a motorcycle tire iron..for the midshaft I have an old driveshaft I cut and ground flats on to hold in a vice.
Should also add the only kid specific things I did to it was pad tray narrower which I actually think is perfect And we are just running just one of the softest Mikuni throttle return springs and the throttle close to the bars.
Sealing the pump seal and pump inserts better fixed the cavitation and most of the water intrusion into the tray. About half a cup after 3/4 tank of riding..going to try to seal driveshaft tube from intake tunnel and see if that does anything..
Ski is super fun. I think I could ride similarly...
That’s a good idea though. Maybe I’ll glue a thin rubber seal on shoe to fill the gap..was hard to get everything right..had to build up back of pump tunnel and grind down the front then try to get the taper for the front bushings right. Was so worried about driveline alignment I wasn’t as...
I sealed it with 1211 should be ok..
I blew air into one of the drain plugs and the inserts were leaking a little. Sealed them up so we will see if that fixes it. Didn’t seem like that much water should get through..
I redid the pump yesterday..it seems like it’s a few millimeters too far away...
I was going to buy that one but doesn’t say the size. I found a new one like that in white which I used to wear back in the day but it’s a large and too big.
LiFe cells don’t catch fire as easy with misuse and arnt as sensitive to being out of balance compared to lipo but you should still balance charge them and store them at storage voltage..(forget what that is for life only had one radio battery all the rest were lipo) in my experience with rc...
To me they make the front end feel more predictable and forgiving but it’s been a long time since I rode without..also when you lean over you have a round edge to lean against..stock it’s either vertical or horizontal..makes it way easier to lean the ski over and in a turn and come back up..if...
I think you get used to them..I remember feeling the chine walk when I first put them on but after you ride them awhile you just adapt. Positives outweigh the one negative by allot imo. Especially for a bigger guy
You can but they work better when you are on an edge on the gas. When I’m cruising a constant speed trying to get somewhere or rest I usually stand both feet pointed towards the nose with the bars around my waist up as far as possible. Makes it pretty stable
