I have been chasing an issue now for about a week. Looking for air leaks etc. It ran pretty good after the last carb cleaning. Lately it's been flat on the midrange and leaving the front plug looking lean. I checked for air leaks etc. I decided to open up the carb on the lean cylinder to...
Regardless of what was posted or deleted I would imagine the issue has been resolved. That looks to be ARP hardware, identical to mine on my 1105. If a bolt broke I would blame that failure on over torquing or ARP's problem. I have the first 1105 Erik made, it has had zero issues. (Other than...
The leading edge seems really low but a 15 trailing in a 155 behind an 898 seems big. I'm pretty sure that trailing edge is the one that really matters. What does php suggest in a 155 behind that setup? (I'm sure you started there but just for reference for the thread)
Step one- buy prop gauge
Step two- get props so low pitched you think they will cavitate. Start with the lowest and see if it spins it. Work your way up until you find one that doesn't spin.
FYI I currently have a 11/19 in my 155 1105 combo. I'm stepping down to a 10/17. Don't be afraid...
I tried both on my 10mm when I set up my epic and was off by almost 2 degrees. If you are going to run a ton of timing it will matter. If you are conservative it's not a big deal. But who builds a 30k ski and doesn't try to get all they can out of it?
It's usually one or the other man, the dial indicator will get you close. To find true tdc use a piston stop and degree wheel. Turn til it stops one way and set the wheel to zero then turn back the other way to the stop measure degrees, divide by 2 and that is true tdc. Then take the degree...
I have the prototype 1105 and have had zero issues. Nikasil will hold up to water intrusion better than a sleeved cylinder. So where are we going with reliability? I guess the same as any other engine the big factor will be the crank. Don't start off with junk and you won't end up with junk.
61x or 62t? I have a 61x stator and flywheel as well as an empty ebox that needs cleaned up. I think we also have a snorkel style air box for dual 38s if it helps.
Holy fire hazard batman! Are your battery cables passing through the aluminum in the battery tray? Or are they just there for the picture? I'd hate to see what would happen if the insulation wore through and they shorted out. Just something to think about.
I always thought the number was the number myself. until an experience with one that was way way out. I just thought it would be a good point to bring up.
