That part has puzzled me too. Why would you design/build a hull that you cant/wont bond the tray to the pump box. Boggles my mind. Not doing that is a huge loss in strength and integrity. Im pretty sure Im going to cut a small square out of the tray centered over the pump box to see whats up...
