I haven't got one yet. I'm looking at buying a foredom tool however their right angle attachments are not durable enough. All my carbide burrs are 1/8". The tools from CC specialty are very expensive. It looks like the right angle...
Don't worry so much about the port chamfering difference. Cleaning up the ports and matching the sleeve with the cylinder casting will help. You will get an increase in compression by removing the gasket but that's about it. Just do it and see what happens. Don't worry aboiut the timing advance...

Was having trouble coming up with a good setup but finally came up with something. Making up some custom tooling to do this properly. A standard boring bar on a regular mill would be too flimsey.
I'm in for sure...last year was a blast. My wife almost shot me when she saw that I posted that video on youtube. Wonder what parts will get violated this year.

I've just finished epoxying up my cases in order to start machining the rod clearance for the 8mm stroker I'm using. I'm thinking I will try standing the cases on end and using my mill cut the trench with a boring head. Just curious to know how others do it.
I'm going to make that plate but I've seen some that use 3... one on either side as well. Or some others that are one piece that cover the whole bottom. If DASA is only supporting the epoxy in the center it should be OK.
Just epoxied up my cases for my ada 989 build. Wondering about what has been refered to as " disaster plates" which are bolted to the bottom of the cases to help support the epoxy. Are supports necessary on the 2 sides? I'm making a plate for the center as the epoxy is thin. I wish someone sold...
