IMO its kind of a shame to hack up a aftermarket hood. It appears to already be 'lowered' or lower than stock. Its your stuff though. If you wanna be awesome, make a mold for a new hood and lay it up out of carbon. If you chop that one and build it back up I doubt it'll be lighter than what...

Haven't checked in for some time. Build looks good! The tray is super short! On the ride plate inserts. If you find a square nose SJ ride plate, you can pattern your second set of holes of that. And re-use the inserts that came off your ski. As far as lighter goes.... I think it'll be tough...

Yeah, I run 5/16" Tygon. Its transparent but fits tight.
