Haven't checked in for some time. Build looks good!

The tray is super short!
On the ride plate inserts. If you find a square nose SJ ride plate, you can pattern your second set of holes of that. And re-use the inserts that came off your ski.

As far as lighter goes.... I think it'll be tough. Just lighter hood, pole, etc.

Also, you might look into doing drains in the back, so if any water does get in you can get it out. Yamaha's are notorious for water ingress.
You can find them on the X, but here is what i'm talking about.

Since you sealed it up, you'll have to use the screws. But a bolt and nut is preferred by most.

IMO its kind of a shame to hack up a aftermarket hood. It appears to already be 'lowered' or lower than stock.
Its your stuff though.

If you wanna be awesome, make a mold for a new hood and lay it up out of carbon.

If you chop that one and build it back up I doubt it'll be lighter than what you have now. So you'll be chopping up a $500+ (usd) hood over aesthetics.

the hood is made of 2 pieces, outer and inner. The connection between both is broken. I think i cut the inner one a bit lower, and glue the outer on the inner a little bit different, thats all.

I dont know the carbon Price in Usa, but here its expensive like hell. And u need alot of it, if u wanne build some parts..
