    The Dyno story

How would you feel if you had spent months or even years saving your hard earned money to build a motor largely based on the horsepower claims of the builder you chose? What's worse is that the #'s claimed were not in line with other respected names in the business. They were greatly over anyone...

    The Dyno story

No doubt. The claims of exact #'s on so many boats is a more than a bit suspicious. Especially when the claimed #'s are VASTLY larger than any other respected builder........ Here's some from soul man... "Yup, it's a Jr. Magoo's-built Lamey stroker. +6mm with the longer rods, I forget the bore...

Blaster Kidney Pipe Observations and Questions

I can barely make out from the pics what you've got going on there, but I think that with the flywheel cover bracket/lord mount you'll be fine. I don't believe you NEED two mounts. None of the TNT's I have use 2 mounts. They either have one to head or one to flywheel cover.

Blaster Kidney Pipe Observations and Questions

I think you're right. If it's rigidly mounted anywhere, something's gonna break.

Who should do my engine work?

Both Art and Robert are the best! They've truly seen and done it all when it comes to jetskis. I was fortunate enough to go out and spend a week at the feet of the master while he did my ADA 6mm and it was awesome. Like you said, Art's been doing this forever and his passion for cool motor stuff...

Who should do my engine work?

Do lots of research on feedback for the various shops. Positive and negative. From that list I'd say Chuckie or Tim Judge.

    clear over gelcoat?

Exactly. 220 is REALLY rough. It's meant to be sprayed, but automotive clear will be much easier to use. Clear gel has poor UV resistance. You'll spray your metal flake/pearl, etc in a clear midcoat and spray clear over that for gloss.

Need help with chasing down an air leak

Next time the motor wants to run on, reach inside the motor compartment and physically use the throttle wheel(NOT relying on the return spring to close the plates) to force the plates against the idle stop screw and see if that stops the run on.

I agree with Parr. In waterskiing we ski in whatever the weather brings. As long as it's not deemed dangerous everyone skis. I jumped at regionals one year in a 30ish mph head wind. Skis chattering so bad you could hardly see the ramp. The worst situation is when the weather changes mid...
