SX/SXi/SXi Pro How to build a 750sxi the right way

Man this section of the forum is dead....time to liven things up a bit! Solas 12 vein pump and prop installed today. I'll be doing some testing tomorrow, we'll see if it lives up to the hype. You can see in the pics just how much larger the nozzle is. It was so much wider that I had to grind...

SX/SXi/SXi Pro How to build a 750sxi the right way

Yeah the destroyers were night and day difference. The best way I can describe it is; Without the tubbies its like the ski felt really tippy and unstable from side to side. The whole "driving a pencil" feeling is 100% spot on as far as how the ski felt in stock form. Coming from a superjet...

SX/SXi/SXi Pro How to build a 750sxi the right way

Alright, finally installed the Ada head kit. Pretty easy, just used grease to keep the o rings from moving around when laying the cover/domes onto the head. I decided not to run dual cooling at this point and keep the hose hookup thing from the factory for convenience. I'll throw up a short vid...

SX/SXi/SXi Pro How to build a 750sxi the right way

Interesting, I wish I would have have done that. That looks clean! You should show us how it turns out. I would put some padding up there though for safety IMO. Don't' want to land hard on unpadded fiberglass, that could break something. It hurts hitting your shins on the side of the hull after...

SX/SXi/SXi Pro How to build a 750sxi the right way

Yes! I know exactly what you are talking about. Rails: For the rails I just picked up the turf rail kit from blowsion. It worked perfect and I would highly recommend it, took about 20 minutes to install. The turf is cut at the bottom of the rail and does not wrap around underneath. Whoever had...

SX/SXi/SXi Pro How to build a 750sxi the right way

I got the 28cc domes as well, the "green" color of the head wasn't as neon/bright as I thought it would be. But IMO I think it still looks better than clear! Optima even threw in a t-shirt, these guys frickin rock. I'll test the compression and post the results once I get it up and running here...

Custom/Hybrid Used to be a 750sx, build sort of...

Exactly, thinking about maybe picking up a cheap beat up 750 hull and trying something like this next winter. Yamaha prices going up, kawai prices going down…only makes sense to go kawi. Afterall, the first bob hull was just a hacked up 650 (at least I heard). You gotta post some videos of this...

SX/SXi/SXi Pro How to build a 750sxi the right way

Just received mine today actually! I had to wait about 1 month or so, totally worth the wait it's too cold to ride here anyways. I just ended up getting the 91 octane domes because I don't want to have to run race gas. Anyways, I might get some time this weekend to install it, gotta get my...

SX/SXi/SXi Pro How to build a 750sxi the right way

Thanks guys. I've been busy with work, but I've got a green ADA head kit coming here soon. I'll post install picks as soon as I have time to work on the ski.

SX/SXi/SXi Pro How to build a 750sxi the right way

I didn't reinforce the hood, although that would probably be a good idea. I only did carbon on the sides of the ski. The nose was "re-built" by the guys who painted it where they basically replaced a large section of the nose. I was told they just used fiberglass, which should be stronger than...

SX/SXi/SXi Pro Ski won't start again after riding for awhile

Nope bought it used about 2 years ago. Yeah, it does look like oil, not sure what would cause that. I'm thinking about just replacing all the ebox components, this thing is so old I'm sure something else will crap out here shortly anyways.

SX/SXi/SXi Pro Ski won't start again after riding for awhile

Finally got around to taking the ebox apart and the fly wheel cover off to take a look around. Stator looks ok, some wired discoloring though I'm not sure if this is normal. The cdi box looks like it might be the problem, it looks kinda melted. Does this look normal? Ski is a 96sxi.

Thanks for the input. Tank valve is good. I Think I'm going to just replace the coil and try that first. Who knows how old the electronics in this thing are.

SX/SXi/SXi Pro Ski won't start again after riding for awhile

This happens every time I go out. I pull the ski off the trailer, starts right up. Drive around the lake for a bit, drop the ski off at the beach. Then I try and start the ski again after about 1 min, won't start. I bypassed the water running to the temp sensor because I thought that was the...

SX/SXi/SXi Pro what are the best tubbies for 750sxi pro?

I dunno about the carving....I guess mine holds a carve a bit better then it did without them. But the most significant thing I noticed with my destroyers was that it made the front of the boat waaaay more buoyant. The ski "feels" like it's twice the width that it was before, and you loose that...

SX/SXi/SXi Pro what are the best tubbies for 750sxi pro?

I have the destroyers on mine, they work great and were crazy easy to install. You literally drill three holes on each side, screw the hardware in and your done. IMO a 750 hull is worthless without tubbies.

I blowsioned my money and bought these, the tubbie I and II's are like $100 less though: http://www.blowsion.com/products/890-tubbie-destroyer-sponsons-kawasaki-750sx-750sxi-pro.aspx We have the Tubbie II's on a 550sx, and they are about the same width as the destroyers (maybe a little...
