image001-1.jpg Hello x members ,just trying to get some input and info out there on 155 mm pump tune selections .first of want to thank deftones 56/tricky1 for the pump ,props ( pun intended) .my current set up is a ss900 on its first 865 bore ,pump gas compression, total loss @30 deg. pfp (dry).now with a 155 set back and 6/13 prop .89mm nozzle with 91 turn nozzle .i just changed to the stubby cone and haven't got to try it yet ,do you think this smaller cone is a good or bad selection ? my thinking is trying to unload the pump in an effort to get it on the pipe just a tad earlier ? i did get to spend a short but sweet weekend on this pump with the med size cone ,in which it was added braaappp for sure ,but maybe not quite as ground breaking as i had expected. but this is on a smaller cc stock stroke motor . i think it works good ,but i am comparing it to my 144 that i had pretty well tuned dialed for my set up .in my opinion so far i think i might need to turn up the volume and install race gas domes to give it some added braapppp in an effort to push this larger pump, also don't get me wrong it is defiantly allot better, but i want optimum settings.smaller bore w/155 mm experienced input welcomed .

I can say the pump cone makes small if any difference. You can also add washers to you prop to get out to spin up faster. I would get with some msd guys but I bet you can bump up your timing and see better results.

^^^ Phukyuguys ! It's phillipino for hello.oh and thank you for the cordial reply 102nd7 I was thinking about bumping up my timing as an option but would like try this last , but I would like to start with some more compression though . What prop did you end up liking the best on your set -up ? Also I apologize for the other monkeys that are constantly throwing pooop in their cage ,dunno how they ended up here in this thread ? Lol.

I think the small cone will definitely help, but that prop may be a little steep for your motor. I've rode a stroker with a bit more cc's that has the same prop as you in a 155 and it was perfection.

I've found the 6/15 worked best so far. But I'm going back to the original 7/18 that zach from Php suggested. As it might work better with the increased ignition timing I'm running now. All I know is I wish I would have tried advancing my timing 1st might have saved me alot of head ache and money. Prop ' s ain't cheap lol

Rubbertoe, I would suggest checking that prop on a pitch gauge. I know it sounds weird, but skat is anything but consistent with their props and pitches. A 155 is such a big pump compared to what everyone was using a couple years ago and it's such a large volume compared to a 144/148 that it's so important to be bang on with the pitch you need. We order the same prop for our builds and they come a bit different almost everytime...especially the leading edge which can make or break how well it works. The pitch sounds like you should be pretty close with that size nozzle. We had a 6/13 in a customer's boat that already had it from another setup and his 898 burns it on the bottom so a ss motor should be pretty close for it.
Tim, with you using a programmable non tl ignition a 7/15 might be a little better for you than the 7/18. Your welcome to send it to us for a free repitch if you are going to keep going with your ski.

Sorry to hi jack but while your on the topic, i was given a 12.5 - 18.5 prop when i bought my 155 skat track pump as part of the deal, is this going to be any good for my xscream ss 900, ATP twin spark, ATP 48mm carbs and PFP which is going in a revolver? And if not what would you recommend.

Thanks, Adz.

Yeh i just don't have a clue when it comes to props. So i need to be looking for a 6/13? and can a 12.8/18.5 be re pitched to that or is there too much difference? Thanks
