Here's the details so far ...

Bought a new SJ hull from a local, has maybe 3 hrs since new if that. Just the hull/hood/pole, no motor, pump, etc

Bought a 24/7 fix steer hood from a x member... Sweet hood that fits Perfect from what my buddies told me

So far this is the plan

772-800cc 62t motor, big carbs, lots of compression, etc.. Jetmaniac motor.. Might borrow my wife's blaster motor since I built it, rode twice and it's been sitting since... (long story, bought epic, ski ran great one day, next day has a bottom end bog, epic = junk IMO .. Swapping back to msd enh...

Type 4 dry pipe
144 mag pump
Thrust trim
Thrust lock down foot holds
Front foothold
Blowsion tubbies
msd enh
Re enforce sides 11 oz carbon
New S.S switch, New gas tank, etc

Going to order the oem sticker for the hood... My plan is to make it look like something Yamaha built, but with brap....

Lucas wants to race it in the surf at Daytona, I'm going to race my Kids Superjet.... Should be fun

Build pics to come....

you will enjoy it... flips are a ton of fun... a little different than a pole ski for sure. I still haven't ripped mine around the marsh here but I bet it would be a fun boat in the buoys.

And mine only had a limited 701 in it with a stock pump.

I'm sure a big bore with a mag pump and a dry pipe will make it a bit more fun.

Looking forward to this build

I'm going to pick up the hull next week I hope, start building between Christmas and New Years... the hood is coming down first week in Jan.... Might be tight to get it done for Daytona as I have some other skis that have to be ready...

I can't wait to get it together , I rode Butti's ski... Same hull/hood as I'm building... Going to be such a fun ski in the surf

Will give me a choice for surf conditions.... XFR or Fixsteer so I'm pumped to get it built

What does it look like? What does the hood has to do with the steering being fixed? Sorry for my ignorance :)..

a fixed steer ski is a ski with fixed steering like a x2 or blaster....blasters are big and bulkey and x2s handle shotty and lack in power, so you can buy or build your own "fixed" steer hood to go on a sj and that gets rid of the pole and you get handle bars more like on a sit down ski exp.

Well the hull will be coming next week... I'm going to order the oem Yamaha stuff I need this week, along with the Blowsion 08+ tubbies... Going to be a cool ski to add to my collection

Hey Stanley my plan is to keep the XFR, and (2) RN's for sure... Only ski I don't really like is the blaster, I hope my wife likes the fix steer so we can sell the B1... She loved my White / Black RN so there's a chance
