Ok, great, we have a date and beach nailed down. As far as where on the beach, I would like to throw in my two cents. I think it is best to set up SOUTH of Beach Access Road 1. This road split’s the Newport Dunes golf club/course on hwy 361(you can google it). There is a golf cart bridge going over hwy 361 just south of Beach access Road 1. Please don’t confuse beach access road 1 with beach access road 1A, they are two different roads. I would like to stress staying just SOUTH of beach access road 1 due to less stupid redneck traffic, it seems most of the beach traffic ends up turning at that road and heads back towards town, so by staying south there is less night traffic for the beach campers to listen to all night long.
Just a few fact nuggets about the low-cal
there are poop cans:Flush: on the beach about every ¼ mile
There are free fresh water showers:bad: at access road 1 on the beach
You will need a beach access vehicle sticker on your window to park on the beach (at anytime) you can get one for like $12 at any gas station in the area
Camping is free (with said sticker) for 3 consecutive days on the beach
There is not any kind of launch ramp on the beach, so you will need to cart skis into the water, if you don’t have a cart just ask to use one, most people don’t mind. people also wheel trailers in by hand.
99.9% of the beach is drivable with two wheel drive vehicles and cars
the law states that every motor vehicle on the beach must be registered, ie atv dirtbikes golf carts (I still bring my mini bikes)
The tide does sometimes cover the whole beach and beach road but only seen it that high once:Thinkingof_:
Ferry is free even for Fairys:cheer:
