Pump in and complete

ebox 2.jpg
Pic of the bracket I made for e box. Today it is being modified a little to have a battery strap go around it as well. Came out real clean. Everything else is in and aligned, just need to run fuel lines tonight, wire bilge pump, drill water bypass fittings and its done

Is that a JSS box?

Looks great, want to make me on just like that? lol

The lexan box was put together by JSS, great e-box IMO...

You talking about needing help with your ebox or you need a bracket made?

Just to clarify, the lexan box is mounted to a carbon fiber plate which has the stock ebox holes, one on either side, then I used a cold fusion e box mount(the silver triangle looking thing) and attached that to the stock holes on the carbon fiber plate. Then from there it was easy cause the cold fusion e box mount has three holes already in it and so I made a bracket at work that attached to motor girdle head bolts and then to the cold fusion e box mount. I used Hydro turf for additional cushion between lexan box and carbon fiber plate, and all wahers used are neoprene backed. I am attaching the battery strap tonight around the entire box for one more level of security. The picture makes the box look a lot higher than it is, the top of the box is basically flush with the hood opening.

I know, I know, but I have ran this ebox for over a year mounted like it is just in the stock location and its been all good for me, Kurt told me/showed me pics of his and what happened. Worst case scenario Zack, it ends up like kurts and then I go back to stock e-box. But hey if I don't try it none of us will know if it will hold up, I will chalk this one up to research and development haha

how close does that put your ebox to the hood/lid?? do not run screws in the four corners of that box!! only use rubber straps. it needs some give so it doesent break apart. also he just plastic welds the componets into the lexan which isnt strong at all. once that thing breaks get an atp one or something similar

the cf tanks looks so nice in there.'

edit: just the price shows the quality... http://www.mcmaster.com/#plastic-electrical-enclosures/=kyrjv3

The ebox from the hood is at least 2 inches if not more, i can measure tonight. And I really think that this e-box is going to be better than expected. Like I said, I have not run it off of the motor before but I have ran this box as is(screws in the corner) mounted in the stock location (RN) for over a year, and no issues whatsoever. I see what you are saying and I am fully aware of what COULD happen. Like I said earlier in this thread, I am also going to have it battery strapped as well, so again, if it breaks its an easy fix(use my stock ebox) and then I will hear the told you so's, but if it works maybe this will help someone else out on their build in the future.

Okay....so after reading that the jss ebox uses double sided adhesive i decided to open the box and see how strong the 'adhesive' is and very easily ripped the msd and relay off the box. I was actually surprised. Anyhow i decided to plexiglass them back down. There are two pics of the box when i pulled the components off. The last pic is plexused them back on.......

Joe, Sorry I never got that bilge pic to you but looks like you got the idea and mounted it where I did. I had so much stuff I had to do before my flight I never got around to it.

Yeah, my JSS box is a piece of crap. I have it zipped tied to my hold mount after I had to epoxy it shut to seal. $500 down the drain but ill figure something out later.

When I got My JSS box in the mail my CDI had already broken off the mounts. Since then, everything other thing inside the box has torn off. Its a hot mess in there. But, I'm not going to mess with it until the ski stops running because of it. Very disappointing but what can yah do?

Looking good though brother! Im anxious to ride with you at Pismo in March!

Ill also send you a special rear tie down strap I made for the Evo.

a good nema 4x box has a internal poly plate that is screwed down to the bottom of box,you drill that plate out and mount everything with small 1/4 inch stainless bolts. the seal on the outside edge of the box is a compression oring they dont leak. ..just buy a replacement box and move all the waterproff passes to the new box...a good one is about 80 bucks...the best one has a gray box and a see through tinted black 6 screw cover

Finished everything and fired it up for the first time. Sounds like it should and going to water test it on Saturday. Going to be a great surf ski...
