2014 Krash Predator - REVAMP

Been waiting to pick up an aftermarket surf ski for a while now and finally found what I was looking for… or so I thought. An Aussie built Predator was on my list and this one looked real nice in the photos! I made a deal with the seller and had it shipped. In total with shipping I was paying top dollar overall but the ski was advertised clean and looked great in the photos. Yay, this should be fun! I get it home and the first thing I notice is a hole in the bottom deck around the pump tunnel. Hmm. Probably should have mentioned that huh? Too late now.

Well, needless to say I am not the type of person to ignore an issue like this. Tray has to come out.

Bye bye turf, you’re ugly anyway and you smell bad.

Measure once, cut 7 times. That’s how most people do it… right?

Welcome to the swamp! Jesus this thing was heavy in the rear! Weighed 98 pounds completely bare without hood. If I’m doing this, I’m gonna do it right. These corroded lines and silicone holding them in has to go!

Now let’s take a look at that pump tunnel…

Now that I think about it, this thing is a little bit long don’t you think? I’ll cut it with a samurai sword. Everyone knows that length doesn’t count… it’s the girth that makes a hot-dog delicious.

You made it look so easy! also looks like the guy grinded the hull to fit the shoe instead of the shoe to fit the hull?

Yeeeeeep. Looks like somebody tried to fit a 155 shoe in here and it didn't work haha

The good news is, this ski will be better than new when I finish it. Which will be ASAP.

And before anybody asks, yes i'm still finishing my FX-1 build haha but this took priority because Im ready to hit the lake!

For crying out loud, would you take the scupper flap off and glass over it please!

And it looks great so far! Come, get this foot rocket and do the same

Hahaha, of course! I wanted to remove it and glass over the hole. But its glued in with some crazy adhesive. It doesn't sand well, and its nearly impossible to scrape. I think im going to copy Scott and just seal it closed, then drill a hole from the rear into the scupper tunnel. Install a piece of PVC and then run a Versi Plug or ball valve. To be honest though, I don't like the idea of scuppers. I might install the PVC and just plug it so it can be used with a ball valve if I want later. Im terrified to sink a ski, and I know that a scupper will make that happen fast in the wrong situation...
